I am--not exaggerating in any way--nauseous from watching the first quarter of this. There is a cut every half a second. The makeup, costumes, and set design look like vomit. And interspersing Nirvana and Material Girl for 5 seconds at a time was one of the most audibly grating things I've ever heard. Those ratings are artifacts that I likely would take less seriously, especially when IMDb uses a rating metric rather than a pass-fail. You could make an argument that Les Mis might have a more passionate or dedicated fanbase if it has more overall detractors and yet pulls the same 10-point rating.
