Jeez, to some people criticism towards Star Wars is akin to blasphemy or something. People talk about the supposed toxic "haters", but what about the toxic fanboys who take SW criticism personally?

I think they want to defend the sequels, but don't know how to express themselves.

This specific training is something that George Lucas may have touched upon in the sequels. He set it up at the end of RotS.

When I watched all trilogy films with a first timer, she told me she was excited to see how the sequel trilogy will explain how Qui-Gon learned this technique.

Even noobs recognized there were unanswered questions and speculation to be explored from the OT and PT

Not really. The answer is no one.

So Rebel's meltdown about Han being a force ghost is proven baseless.

I like to think Lucas would have touched upon Darth Vader's ghost. Perhaps Qui-Gon reached out to Vader during the Empire days. Same way Qui-Gon reached out to Yoda.

Perhaps only Anakin and Yoda could be reached without training due to their high midichlorians count. I'm telling you George Lucas had a plan.

And when exactly did Vader put the "training" into practice?

John Boyega, Mark Hammill, J J Abrams, Ridley etc are all neckbeards for expressing disappointment in the ST according to RE logic.
Disregarding Rebel, I honestly feel bad for all the actors. I know I'd be ecstatic to be in Star Wars but it has to suck realizing you are not in good hands and they have no fucking clue what they're doing.

People are grossly overthinking this. Lucas does not write to anywhere near that level of complexity. If you're a Jedi and you die with a good heart you get to be a force ghost. And in times of need a living Jedi may see Force ghosts of people close to them. That's it. That's the entire system.

The whole point of showing Anakin at the end of Return of the Jedi was to show that Luke succeeded in turning his heart back to good, so he gets to go to force heaven, or Valhalla, or return to the LifeStream, or any number of philosophies that are more or less the same thing.

This is probably fine in context of the OT only but in 3 Yoda explicitly says he learned immortality from Qui Gonn and Obi Wan will commune with him to do the same. It's not even EU stuff at that point.

From what I can tell you're talking about a scene that the internet says was cut from the movie, and sort of reiterated in one of the cartoons. That's not the same as something being explicitly Canon, and like midi-chlorians should probably just be ignored.

What was it Lucas said again when some fan asked him about how a ship in episode 3 appeared even though in the lore it wasn't for produced until ten years later? It was something like "they're just movies." Not even Lucas cares enough about his Canon to worry about these things.

No. We never saw Qui-Gon as a ghost so it's possible he guides/contacts Yoda and Vader a different way. Premonitions. Voices. Etc.

Maybe the premonitions lead Vader to where Qui-Gon discovered this knowledge. The next question, which doesn't have to be answered right away, is would Vader share this knowledge with the Emperor?

What?

I watched the movie a couple weeks ago. This scene is definitely in the movie lol. Yoda explains it at 54 seconds.

I'm sure it'll be retconned but everything in SW right now suggests you need to learn how to become a Force Ghost.

Qui-Gon did not complete his Force Ghost training before he died, so he communes with the living as only a voice. This is explained in the Clone Wars show, and he talks to Yoda as a disembodied voice and guides him to where he learned to become a Force Ghost.

I thought i was basing my ideas on George Lucas' Journal of the Whills. Maybe i read about clone wars spoilers by mistake.

Yeah his entire gimmick is that everything that's canon = good and everything in legends = bad.

I've seen him reverse positions on things practically overnight once they make the jump to canon.
