It's not even EU stuff at that point. From what I can tell you're talking about a scene that the internet says was cut from the movie, and sort of reiterated in one of the cartoons. That's not the same as something being explicitly Canon, and like midi-chlorians should probably just be ignored. What was it Lucas said again when some fan asked him about how a ship in episode 3 appeared even though in the lore it wasn't for produced until ten years later?
