The whole point of showing Anakin at the end of Return of the Jedi was to show that Luke succeeded in turning his heart back to good, so he gets to go to force heaven, or Valhalla, or return to the LifeStream, or any number of philosophies that are more or less the same thing. This is probably fine in context of the OT only but in 3 Yoda explicitly says he learned immortality from Qui Gonn and Obi Wan will commune with him to do the same.
