Maybe the premonitions lead Vader to where Qui-Gon discovered this knowledge. The next question, which doesn't have to be answered right away, is would Vader share this knowledge with the Emperor? Qui-Gon did not complete his Force Ghost training before he died, so he communes with the living as only a voice.
