It's a moral imperative that Donald Trump be impeached and tried, and throwing the idea of resignation to a particular outcome at our elected officials does not really inspire them to do the best job they can to see their duty through on this.

I'll go one step further and believe republicans will successfully manage to keep Trump in the white house even after his 2nd term because they've made it clear there's no law republicans won't bend and break to get what they want and if anyone points it out it's just salty liberal snowflakes butthurt they didn't figure out who to do it first, that they ran shitty candidates that didn't capture America's hearts like Trump or SJWs, diversey pandering, feminism basically anything considered super left leaning is the real blame for American's running to republicans in droves,etc.

At first I thought there was no way Trump was getting removed and I even thought going through with impeachment was a waste of time. But as the investigation went on I thought more and more that the process should be carried out to its end. Even if it doesn't serve any purpose, it's the right thing to do. Yes it's really a moral imperative.

And actually I've started to think that the Republicans might decide that they don't have to keep literally dealing with Trump and they can take a chance on Pence instead, or whoever. Right now the party seems to be projecting this image that they are 100% behind Trump but I'm absolutely sure this could quickly if maybe not easily change.

They're playing it very cautiously and slowly, which is understandable because after all Trump didn't do everything he's done just by himself. But again, I have no doubt that if they see a chance to get rid of Trump with acceptable consequences, they will take it. Trump knows this as well, he knows it all too well, he knows he depends on them more than ever, which is why he's surely trying to deal with them but also why being the idiot that he is there's actually a good chance that he'll screw up. There's an interesting strand of stupidity and failure in Trump.

Nah, he might lose the election though if the Democrats don't buckle under Biden. As much as I agree with impeachment, my cynicism screams that our government is too incompetent

Literally the jury and defendant working together towards an acquittal. I don't know how anyone could see any other outcome short of the turtle having a heart attack and dying before the trial, but even then some other jamoke will get up there and finish what he started.

I do not understand this sentiment. I think its spineless to let what hes been doing go unchecked. I dont see anyone actually being actively swung to support trump over this. Obviously his base is riled up since someone is daring to stand up to him, but I dont see how doing what they are constitutionally obligated to do seals the election in Trumps favor.

Honestly Bloomberg and Biden are both the exact kind of democrats wall street wants so if it's them vs Trump it truly won't matter who wins, and even if one of them managed to ike out a win there's still the republican controlled senate who has vowed to make whatever democrat wins a lame duck president

The Senate trial is going to showcase the illegal things Hunter Biden did and get the conversation back to that. The Ukraine call was not the product of a corrupt president. Everyone was on that call with him and knew what he was doing. It's so ridiculous that they've steered the conversation completely away from the point of the call, which was uncovering these illegal actions.

I'm pretty sure he won't be removed, and that will signal our entrance into a post-democratic era where people just stop pretending they care about the law and Constitution in the first place and do whatever the hell they want.
