Do you think this wench used a terrible example to front free speech?

Devil Eye Brow Heifer, Caitlin Sewell, the attorney for University of North Texas as QUIT her job less than 24 HOURS after she said the N WORD during a panel on free speech!!

She spoke at a campus event called "When Hate Comes To Campus" and used the n-word that sparked outrage int he audience leading her to get booed off the stage along with the hook

She said "So if i said something offensive, you know, you can say a lot of offensive things in here because it's impossible to talk about the First Amendment without saying horrible things. Um you know, like "You're just a dumb n-word and i hate you". That alone, that's protected speech"

Chaotic video surfaced that showed the shocking slur as someone comes on stage to shame her and a woman in the crowd heckle her.

One woman says "Oh man, free speech, whatever, but you knwo you offend a lot of people in this room"

She then returned to the mic and said "I just want to sincerely apologize. I did not mean to by any means offend anyone. I wish i had censored that word. It came out with out thought. I sincerely apologize"

But no one bought the apology as one woman yelled "No! It did not come out! because if it did come out, f***, would have come out too! you literally knew. This is not something that you don't know. That is not a word that you say, you know. Don't even say that, she really said n-word and didn't say the word f***"

The event was meant to help students understand civil discourse and the type of language that's protected under free speech and Caitlin was trying to claim using the n-word,although controversial, was perfectly "legal"

Stephanie Gaia said "She used it as an example. She said it with the hard r, no hesitation. Everyone was just so taken aback".

Less than 24 hours later, out of shame, Caitlin resigned as University President Neal Smatresk said the vehemently defend inclusion and said while Ms Sewell was trying to make a point, they don't condone what she said

Students were mixed on her use of the word as some say she was only making a point and blowing it out of proportition while others said people who use the n word as an example of free speech are completely ignorant and is overused

Do you think this wench used a terrible example while fronting free speech?

That'll teach her for showing an example of free speech on a college campus! Colleges are probably the least speech-friendly places in the developed world. Otherwise, an example of free speech within that context doesn't have punch unless you use something offensive and, no matter what you use (provided you actually use something offensive), there's going to be controversy.

People who say things without hesitation are unlikely to be feel ashamed about doing it.

so many people don't actually know what free speech means

it's that the government can't do anything to you, and even then, they can, and often will, depending on what you say.

it does not mean that you wont have any consequences from anything else.

she fucked up, and instead of learning her lesson and learning what free speech actually means, she is going to just be bitter and have learned nothing.

Without the video we have no way of judging what her intent appeared to be but based solely on the text provided she proved her point, that the audience was not in favor of free speech. She used the sentence as an example and was immediately berated for it, whether or not she believed the sentence to be truthful. There is not even any evidence that she said it to a particular person or if she said it to the audience as a whole.

Whether or not she believes it's truthful is irrelevant, but it *is* correct. The government can't come after you for using that word.

Wow.

How stupid is she? Part of it is because we don't have the full context here but I just don't understand why she felt the need to say that.

Could have said "Racial slurs fall under free speech. The government will not fine or jail them but they don't escape the response their employers or peers may have to their words." Instead she just makes a bizarre hateful statement.

She uses a bizarre hateful statement as an example. Shes doesnt just make it arbitrarily to insult anyone in particular. Her mistake was believing that she could use such an example in an educational setting where freedom of speech has gone out the window decades ago and strict conformity is the new big thing.
