Hasn't Jimmy G had an undefeated record or some weird shit since going to the 49ers? How does that make any sense? Maybe not being injured to hell made all the difference this year, but the turnaround is pretty crazy.

Patriots now have 8 wins.

If you exclude the Bills from their opponents, the other seven teams they've faced have nine wins combined. Through half of the season. Seven opponents (Jets were played twice so I counted their one win twice), through a combined 49 games, have nine wins. (Steelers and Dolphins play each other tomorrow so that will go up to 10 wins regardless of what happens afterwards but still).

That is almost an impossibly easy schedule. Patriots obviously have a ton of skilled players and are a very good team, but I cannot believe their luck through the first half of the season.

The Bills 5 wins were against teams with 6 wins combined entering this week

Though speaking of the Jets, Osemele's damage was "significantly worse" than anticipated before the surgery, and they're still raining hell on a backup who was basically physically incapable of playing.

Now they're claiming it was a pre-existing injury and it's not their problem, except if it was a pre-existing injury the level of incompetence required to both completely miss it and pass him on the physical is staggering.

What the hell is wrong with this team? Do they not realize other players are going to see how badly they're treating this guy? Dude's only making 500K a week. This is Wilpon tier bad and basically the entire NFL seems to be against them.

Pats have had a weak schedule, yeah. The Dolphins and first Jets games are especially sad. On the road against Buffalo, at Big Ben's Steelers and in theory the Sam Darnold Ghosts game aren't as bad, but, yeah. There's no way they win against Baltimore.

If Baltimore's defense was still good, I'd agree, but I'm not convinced they have enough on that side of the ball even with how relatively limited New England's been on offense this year.

At the midway point.

Once again the NFC has a balanced group of top contenders, this time in the 49ers, Packers, Saints, Seahawks, and Vikings. There are a few other teams you could even add to the list who could make some noise if they get hot. The fight for the wild card is looking to be competitive though, so teams hovering around or a little below .500 are going to need to start stringing together some wins now before it's too late.

The AFC, which has not had balance in over a decade, is struggling to even have any kind of notable contender to the Patriots this year. The Sunday night game in Baltimore will be crucial. It is the best, and only chance for the rest of the field to tighten the gap. If New England wins, it'll pretty much lock up home field advantage for them, and that's not even that much of an early exaggerated prediction in my opinion.

Well, there's no other team in the AFC who only has 1 loss at this point after the Bills lost yesterday, so that's not too farfetched to say. They aren't likely to lose 3 games in the last 8, and you aren't likely to see another AFC team go 8-0 in the second half.

home field advantage doesn't mean anything when the OL makes every team they play look like the 2015 Broncos DL

Yeah, the Dolphins are basically the equivalent of a I-AA college football team. At the top end, they might be able to hang around for a half, but their lack of depth catches up with them in the second half and they just fall apart.
