This sounds incredibly dumb on Turkey's part. Deliberately attacking US bases is an act of war.

I can see it now. Tulsi Gabbard becomes the first female president in 2024.....running as a Republican.

I'm all for that. She would be a great Republican candidate.

It's like the only way to get true non partisanship. Cause if the dems try the Rs wont go for it. But the Dems will jump at the chance if the Rs push for it.

Yeah, I trust these sources on Twitter as far as I can spit, and I don't spit. They are going to say anything to try and make Trump look bad. I find it hard to believe that the US leaves Syria for Turkey and then Turkey responds by deliberately attacking US bases. Because the moment that ever happens the wrath of God from our military is coming.

But, who knows... Maybe Trump is playing "4D chess" to help our faithful allies, the Kurds, by finding a cassus belli to wipe out Turkey and give them a Kurdistan.

That's not what he said, again embellished. He is saying a country is finally financially supporting the US troops in their country and their costs, which he stated South Korea and others were pushing the cost onto us instead of financially paying for the troops and bases protecting them and passing it onto the American citizen.

He is supporting an ally, just like South Korea. You are grasping at straws and frankly it is getting relatively pathetic how bad you are grasping at them. You deliberately leave out context, twist the statements to make them seem foolish, and then have the laughable position to act like he is the idiot. C'mon, dude. You have easier things to go after. This is absolutely relatable to his comments on South Korea and others on paying for troops stationed there for their protection.

Either its in our interest to be helping them, in which case we shouldnt be making our allies pay like its a protection racket, or its not in our interest and we shouldnt be deploying troops at all. Trump is simultaneously saying he cant possibly stand by the Kurds and has to abandon them to the mercy of Erdogan, and at the same time we can spare even more troops to defend fucking oil fields? Theres no universe in which that set of decisions is sane.

Absolutely a country should be paying for troops being used to help with their defense if they can.

No, Trump is saying he sided with a NATO ally sovereign nation in their request for them to leave the region for them to campaign against what they seem is terrorists to their nation over a loose coalition of units that were auxiliaries for our battles on the front lines in a mutually beneficial campaign that has since ended.

Saudi Arabia is a sovereign nation who is, with Israel, our main bastion of influence in the Middle East and responsible for the majority of our Arab coalition of support we have. Who also largely is responsible for the entire oil market and preventing a crash of oil, which is to the benefit of the world economy.

The fact you are stating we should value a loose non-sovereign group of revolutionary auxiliaries over a full fledged NATO ally is quite wild. Yinz would be the first ones losing their shit if Turkey left NATO and joined an alliance with Russia over USA support of what they seem is terrorists also.

You are comparing apples to oranges.

You mean our oil fields. Saudi Arabia signed a contract with American oil companies in 1933 giving them the exclusive right to develop oil in Saudi Arabia. They did, forming a company called Aramco. In the 70s Saudi Arabia nationalized Aramco.

Mr. President, I think maybe we should hold Saudi Arabia to the deal that was struck and take back our oil!

Leave it to Tony to not know what Trump's position is and to twist it to whatever he thinks it should be to be foolish.

His position is that NATO allies need to start giving their fairshare to the alliance as agreed upon as we are supporting NATO almost ourselves despite the agreement of GDP investments agreed upon. That if they don't want to provide their fairshare then we need to re-evaluate it and leave it possibly.

If anything, that directly supports what he means by finally an ally paying for the support they are receiving fully.

And, yes, if we deemed someone terrorists, we would expect our allies to leave areas in which they may be working with said terrorists for our attacks also.

The Kurds literal goal is to create their own nation of Kurdistan. That goal includes the acquiring of land in Turkey and other nations in creating said nation. Them considering them terrorists and revolutionaries against the national interest is pretty much a no brainer.

LGBT? Sure we got marriage equality passed but its under constant threat, marriages still being ignored, folks still being fired, constant pushback trying to get the little we have accomplished nulled immediately. Id hardly call it successful yet and if you care at all youre still mocked relentlessly and those folks arent immediately shut down.

And that last one was under a larger header, ya know, the entire racial inequality movement which Malcom X was providing the heavy for while Martin Luther King Jr. was the peaceful face.
