I won't try to rank the movies just because the gap between watching the first and the last has been like 6 months, and thus I don't remember the details of the earlier movies super clearly. I did enjoy the series though. I wouldn't call it an all-time favorite, but it's something I'd watch again.

In classic Trails fashion that sure escalated quickly towards the end. From towards the end of Chapter 4 all the way through the end is quite the trip!

Estelle with the burn of the game (series?) with: "I think Weissmann was a more decent person than you are." and Joshua agrees! A lot of super interesting stuff towards the end that raises a number of questions with me Namely the Cult logs, but also some things striking me as weird like Joshua estimating Demon Joachim to be worse than Aureole-fused Weissmann. like wtf Gnosis really pushed him above a damn Sept-Terrion? The high-end Gnosis abilities themselves raise a lot of questions too, like how legit were they? Clearly his insight wasn't foolproof given he lost but huh. And like okay, mind reading explains how he knew about Weissmann's Evil Eye ability but how the hell does it let him replicate it even if as an inferior copy? Unless Joshua vaguely knew how it worked?

Also, this piqued my interest from the Prologue given that I knew the general plot but Wazy actually makes a comment suggesting Dino from the Vipers was on/got ahold of Gnosis in the Prologue but no one follows up on his observation either at the time or later ever. Since I knew how things go, I recognized it as a Gnosis reference but I also increasingly started to wonder if it was a line out of place or something given I'm not sure the timeline works too well?

Speaking of the timeline, this has always had me wondering since 3rd really and Zero just confused things to the point where I was like "huh" even more (This one is safe for the most part if you've seen/played 3rd, I reference a line in Zero but I'm actively questioning its possible accuracy) Renne's timeline has always been something that I've tried to work out. She and Joshua know each other from his Ouroboros days which means that Loewe and Joshua took out Paradise, at a minimum, 5 years prior to FC because otherwise Joshua was with Cassius. Even Weissmann's brainwashing of Joshua to report doesn't make sense as a workaround because Joshua himself isn't aware of those memories... unless Weissmann unlocked them at the end of FC which... well okay he would do that but would Joshua really be gone long/frequently enough to pull this off with Estelle not noticing he just peaces out all the time?

But [the main villain] in Zero states that Paradise's destruction was conducted a year ago, during the Liberl incident, by Ouroboros. ...which doesn't check out at all. Unless they are grossly misinformed and Renne/someone torched the place during/after SC and they're mistaking that as the destruction of the place rather than the actual Loewe/Joshua raid that occurred 5-6 years prior to that. However, they're vaguely aware of Renne, if not by name, so like... that doesn't seem very likely? idk it just bugged me.

Man I haven't been here in a while.

Finished up Cold Steel IV. The short version is, I feel like it could have and maybe even should have been my favorite in the series, but it missed the mark on so many things that it just isn't. Which isn't to say it's a bad game -- it's easily the 2nd best Cold Steel game -- but compared to the top tier of CS3, Ao, SC, and the Sky the 3rd, it falls short.

Also played through Yoku's Island Express, which is an absolutely delightful little metroidvania pinball adventure. It's just so chill, a nice game to relax with considering I spent let's-not-talk-about-how-many hours reading every line of dialogue in CS4 >_>

Regarding Crossbell: My official recommendation is that you *need* to play the Crossbell games before CS3. In a way, the two Crossbell games and the four Cold Steel games are all one giant narrative arc; playing CS3 without experiencing Crossbell would be like reading A Dance with Dragons without reading A Feast for Crows because you've read the first three books. Like yes, it does involve a different set of characters primarily, but the A Feast for Crows folks still show up and everything they did matters! But it looks like you're already on that.

Re: Zero spoilers from xp: If you show me the video I can check for sure, since the Zero TL is, uh, "not good," to say the least. But the Trails wiki says it takes place in 1198.

This itself might be a mistranslation, since it's so early, but there's an absolutely *ton* of foreshadowing of the gnosis stuff in the random NPC dialogues. You very much know something is up and horribly wrong for quite some time in advance, if you've been talking to everyone. Dunno how much stuff the videos got into, though.

Yeah, I figured the Renne thing was probably a mistranslation because it just clashed so hard with what was established in SC and 3rd but since the TL went so far as to not just get the number of years wrong but specifically mention the Liberl incident I was wondering "could it really be *that* wrong." Guess it could! Which... shouldn't be that surprising considering some of the more comical errors that are everywhere else!

As for the other matter Yeah, it's less that it was foreshadowing (if anyone would know of these things in advance it'd be Wazy) but just how early it was. Almost all the other Gnosis cases were the result of Revache getting desperate after the Schwarz Auction and opening the floodgates... so Intermission/Chapter 4 at the earliest. Lloyd accuses, and the reaction all but confirms, that they were using people as test subjects and given their meddling in Downtown a Viper would make sense that there was some experiments carried out earlier but it just felt like a significant outlier even still. As for the NPC dialogue... there's some but overall I'd still consider it quite incomplete and limited so it's tough to say. Certainly in the days leading up to the reveal you can see signs if you're paying attention, but again, we're talking Chapter 4 here.

The line in question actually says "The Lodge in question was destroyed not as part of the larger operation [of 6 years ago], but rather in an independent attack conducted by the Organization responsible for last year's incident in Liberl." An understandable mistake (basically, the TLer failed to grok a relative phrase, which semantically functions a lot like a prepositional phrase in English, except it ends in a verb that behaves essentially like an adjective [grammar is fun]), if still one of the ones I'd consider a "red flag" in terms of someone being ready to do a translation like this.

Ever since the Cowboys scored that FG at the half I had a baaaaad feeling. That's a classic "Jets harbinger of disaster" thing. They got totally bailed out on that bad OPI call on Dallas's opening drive in the 3rd quarter. If Dallas scores a TD there they win almost no question in my mind. Even with the FG I was 50/50 if not slight lean Cowboys. Darnold INT I was like "here we go."

Almost no question in my mind that Cowboys get the TD on that last drive and I only wavered when it was 1st&27 but the Jets jets'd that one immediately. It was always coming down to that 2pt-conversion in my mind and they somehow escaped it.

And still they almost jets'd on that onside kick lol.
