Literally minutes ago the LE was delivered to me. Even though I didn't get a shipping email yet lol.

Although dammit not quite finished with the Ao watchthrough yet (am actually doing that right now) if I'd known it'd arrive a day early I wouldn't have taken a session off to watch Toonami and just let it stay on DVR a few days!

Ao no Kiseki Fragment watched and a good chunk of Final Chapter so far

To be specific I am currently at the point where the SSS is back in Crossbell and just got called by Kilika for a meet up with her and Lechter before the Orchis Tower raid. yo wtf Campanella throws around (fake) Salt Pales? holy ****. will laugh if this is a habit he only picked up after watching weissmann get killed but i can't imagine such a thing would ever be discussed. The timeline does seem a little wacky with Campanella saying he's off to Erebonia but he doesn't show in CS2. Duvalie and Arianrhod the best. Also Lloyd and Noel still such dorks lol. On the CS2 timeline I think we're on CS2 Act 2 Part 3 right now. Looking at the videos ahead there's still a few hours left. Should finish somewhere today/tonight and then CS3 time!

So is it actually easier to grind Support levels from battles?

Especially if you're playing on Normal and you can just battle infinitely on a given day.

Yeah, I think so at least. Certainly if you're not stocked high in cooking ingredients because cooking meals is the only activity that I think would come close from an efficacy standpoint.

Choir is once a day only, and everything else would only help Byleth's supports IIRC.

I think I've gotten all of the Golden Deer Supports with each other. There are just a handful of characters that I'm way behind on (primarily Caspar, Ferdinand, and Sylvain), so I'm not sure I can catch them up any other way.

Although I am learning that you can still grind Support points even if you've got them set as an Adjutant, which is handy.

Yeah, sticking an adjutant on someone to build that support pair is the best way, I think. If that's not an option (out of adjutant slots or working on multiple supports for one person) you'll want to have them in range to be able to attack whatever target the other half of the pair is attacking. So unless it'd be a problem it's easiest to use long range weapons where possible.

Also, I'm wondering if Caspar's A rank with Byleth just requires a ton of points because he's like the only student who hasn't hit it with him yet and I've been trying for the last couple months.

That one definitely felt like it took a while for me, too. And Caspar was part my core party in my playthrough so there should have been plenty of incidental support points gained in battles even when I wasn't focusing on it.

I don't think the data is out there on points needed to rank up (at least it wasn't on Serenes last I checked) but it could operate on the same theory LotM mentioned with Edelgard. Namely, the fact that Caspar's B support with Byleth is post-timeskip means that you can't even start on building points towards it until after the timeskip, whereas with almost everyone else they can hit B pre-timeskip and so you can be working towards building points for A much earlier - even if the actual convo itself has to wait for the timeskip.

Past Fire Emblems have certainly had supports with varying "speed" to them. (Like B->A would always be 80 points but for some characters anything that gave points would count as 2, or 3, etc. instead of just 1; Usually had to do with support pairs that made sense, like childhood friends or whathaveyou)

Just did Claude's Paralogue, and that thing was stuffed full of lore. It halfway confirmed a theory of mine that I've had for a while now. I don't know if the game will ever give full, direct answers to some of these mysteries or if they just expect you to piece it together and fill in the blanks for yourself.

Which mysteries? Claude's route answers more than any other, but some things are left unanswered AFAIK.

The mystery about the nature and identity of the Four Saints, in particular. The beast from Linhardt/Leonie's Paralogue seems to be Saint Indech, and the Wind Caller seems to be Saint Macuil. Rhea could be Seiros herself, but I'm not totally sure on that one. This Paralogue seemed to imply it, at least. I've long suspected that Seteth and Flayn are Saint Cichol and Cethleann, although I don't know if they're merely "reincarnated" in the sense that Sothis was reincarnated in Byleth or if they're just really, really old and somehow ageless. It doesn't totally explain how they can live such long lives or how they become beasts, but these beasts seem to be the original saints (like how the beast in Marianne's Paralogue seems to be the original guy).

Well, Flayn gets it a lot, for sure. I love Seteth's Supports because all of the students are so scared of him.

Flayn is low key one of the best characters in the game, too.

Linhardt's Supports are pretty good in general.

It's helped by the fact that he's voiced by one of my favorite VAs in Chris Patton (Sousuke from Full Metal Panic!).

Regarding Seteth, Flayn and the calendar.
One detail I really liked was how Seteth's birthday and Saint Cichol Day are the same day. Similarly, Flayn's birthday and Saint Cethleann Day are also the same day.

Linhardt when it's going heavy into his "I'm lazy and want to nap" gimmick is bad. Linhardt when he's in "science rules" mode is one of the better characters. The latter mode is featured more in supports with Lysithea, Marianne, etc. where there's some crest thing for him to investigate/talk about.

Okay, gotta say, I expected a bit more from that trailer. They didn't really show anything new, other than a tease of Rey and Kylo in the throne room of the ruins of the Death Star, as a callback to the end of Return of the Jedi.

Maybe it's best that they play things close to the chest for this one though.

I wanted to make a joke about how the last time the Jets got annihilated by the Patriots like this they ended up making the playoffs and made them a one-and-done by beating them in the divisional round (45-3; Buttfumble game) so this was actually right where the Jets want them but immediately had to stop because I sincerely doubt that was the last time. >_>

Finished Chapter 17. Battle at Gronder Field is still really fun. Battle theme is super good.

And I imagine that's probably as far as I get before Cold Steel 3 tomorrow!
