But if they are in a position where they would lose whether or not they turn on him, it doesn't help them to turn on him. Trump has done a very good job of making it so Republicans feel that if they turn on him, they would lose for sure. If the GOP turns on Trump now, they look like fools or opportunistic liars for following him this far.
