Maybe if they'd built Missy up as super close to Karishma, to explain why she'd stick her neck out to save the most obvious boot on that tribe. Maybe if they'd planted seeds of doubt as to why Chelsea would be excised from the women's alliance, while Karishma was not. Modern Survivor has become FAR too focused on "let's throw out as many names as possible so we can have a #blindside at tribal council" that they no longer care about coherent storytelling. --- Touch fuzzy. Because rather than build up Chelsea/Dean as a showmance over the course of several episodes (perhaps giving Dean content, rather than erasing him from a ninety minute premiere), they just throw the showmance in here, justifying why everyone is suddenly okay with betraying the womens alliance to boot Chelsea as literally the third choice of a target. Its a twisted cycle that sends the show on a downward spiral. The edit hypes up blindsides and big moves as being amazing; then they edit the show on an episode-by-episode basis so the fans dont think Hey. It just feels funnier for some reason, almost like it is just taking itself a little less seriously than normal. I'm fine with big moves because what the players are conditioned to talk about in this era of Survivor and Big Brother. The players view it as a game show, so if we get character stuff in the first half of the episode like we did today and them game stuff in the second half then I'm down. Everyone is so normal and so many personalities revolve around the game.
