It's been a nightmare for Marvel fans after the Sony and Disney deal broke down and Spiderman was fully controlled by Sony again and will no longer be part of the MCU...

But now the rumours suggest an even darker picture as it appears APPLE may want to buy SONY PICTURES!!

If Sony is bought by another company, the rights to Spidey will revert back to Marvel and Disney is in no hurry to pay through the nose to use Peter Parker again if Sony is bought out and they get him back with no charge..

The Apple buyout is far from confirmed as they may want to purchase Lionsgate, A24 or CBS Viacom and it isn't confirmed if they want to buy just Sony Pictures or ALL of Sony which includes their Music Division and Playstation....

Apple is slowly getting into the entertainment space and buying up studios is the way to go

Sony has been in this situation before where investor Dan Loeb begged the company to sell its movie division after falling profits but that all changed after a turnaround at the top and the movie division is making money again.

As of right now Sony is still moving forward with making another Spiderman with Tom Holland as Disney holds its breath of getting him back over this news.

In what way could the contract to own the movie rights to Spider-man possibly be written so that if Sony sells their company, the movie IP rights are lost?

What would typically happen is the new owner would purchase the Spider-man movie IP rights along with the rest of the company.

And frankly, while Sony doesn't have the best track record with most movies, allowing Disney to own everything is bad.

I could see Sony possibly selling off Sony pictures. Theyre inconsistent at producing box office hits but some recent big successes could allow them to demand a high price.

Apple needs to get some content to add to its streaming service library though, seems like its gonna be a joke at launch.

Even though Sony usually loses money with their movies, I don't think they want all their eggs in one basket, that's why their funding their movies with profits from their Playstation division despite how the movies usually lose money.

I highly doubt they would be able to buy ALL of Sony though, so the PlayStation is safe.
