I was like 14 when I made an account here so I tried to use that same name, only Johnbob was taken, hence the extra B. It was supposed to just be a throwaway account because I only made it to look up some game cheats at the time.

I had a gaming clan in high school that went by Exile(Color) and I was Orange, so then some of the members had a falling out and it split up. Later one of them asked me to join his Betrayed clan, I said sure and made the second half Tangerine in reference to the previous name. I like how it sounded so I just stuck with it.

It was my AIM name, which I only reused here because I could not think of a newer name at the time, and I figured that once I came up with a better screen name I'd make a new account. I never originally intended on keeping the same name across all services.

This account with the 3 hyphens was made because the version with 2 was banned along with my original account, and both versions with 1 on either end were read-only when I tried making them after getting banned.

The Metalmind portion started as my randomly-generated name for a game called Realm of the Mad God which I played a while back, and it persisted for whatever reason. The Stats portion is even older, derived from statsngeo, the first email address I stuck with (based on some interests of mine at the time). At some point, I jammed the two together to be my primary internet moniker.

CelesMyUserName - inspired by Terraytan and Kleegamesh... Celes da best and it kinda fits as a "Guess" substitute
Grimlyn - mix of my real name (Dylan) + niche love Lost Kingdoms's mc Tara Grimface. Kinda got a few ___lyn pun names but this one sticks for the niche love reasoning and also the pun is sounding like Gremlin. I legitimately like it more than my past mains which are kinda situational nonsense! Also aimed for a 'g'-initial due to Gmun, plus my last name is G-initial, plus both my siblings are G-initial... I have used "Gylan" in some games based off of matching my siblings, so I'm pretty attached to G-initialism

For years, on another website, there was a poster who was much my rival. We disagreed over numerous topics, and he was somewhat of an unsavory person when doing so. What I can commend him on, was that he was a very good writer. He could hook one with a thrilling narrative even when discussing the most mundane things. As our rivalry continued to grow, he went on to make a series of very successful blogging board topics in 2010. Now, he hasn't always bested me in all of our rivalries, but in this scenario, he had. However, I wasn't one to give up. I wanted to try my hand at blogging, so I started reading a lot of blogs to get some insight into how some were successful and others weren't. I had mild success on a different website, but I didn't feel ready to take on my rival.

As fate would have it, in mid-2011, about the time when I felt like I could surprise him and finally dethrone his topic series, I came to find that he had left the website. Nobody really knew what had happened to him, which was odd given the success he had in writing. In 2015, an acquaintance on that website said they had spotted Josh, my rival, posting here on GameFAQs. After what felt like an eternity of waiting, I finally had my chance to excel over him once again. So I signed up with this name, to let him know that I too was a blogger now.

Chichiri is one of my early favorite anime characters. He's a Vash the Stampede or Ruroni Kenshin kind of character that acts cheerful most of the time in order to hide the dark shit he went through. Muyo translates to useless, futile, or needless.

The initial username I wanted was taken, and so was every other thing I thought off, so I just got pissed and put my favorite animal with the a bunch of the 1st number I pressed. I'd say this name stood the test of time way more than the first name I wanted at least!

I made a character when I was like 13 named Mherg and wanted it to be my account but it got read-only'd

So I called my friend and had him make the account for me, but I couldn't use that name anymore obviously so I told him to put Zero at the end (it was the day of Zero vs Lloyd 2005 and I thought Zero was cool). He said it was taken so I said put 17 at the end of it because it's my favorite number. I login to find he only typed the M >_>

Then I lost MZero17 for reasons but I was already decently known by then, so I stuck with MZero and just picked another number I like

After my ex-future ex-wife went bonkers, I got to change my username to something more mature. I went with BlueCrystalTear because of Tear Grants' best weapon being the Blue Crystal Rod (from Tales of the Abyss) and she's one of my favorite waifus ever so yeah. It also so happened that the BCT acronym was that of a sandwich I was enjoying at the time, which I then found a funny coincidence (Bacon/Chives/Tomato), so it worked on that level, too. And then the username purge happened a year later.

This alt is obviously named for Leia from Tales of Xillia. The double underscores are so it's elongated, like Leia's staff. (Mods: "Elongated Staff" is LITERALLY the name of Leia's special ability.)

My AOL handle ManaSe9051 and later ManaSejema was taken from Secret of Mana. At the tine of joining GameFaqs, I was very into Digimon and AOL Chatroom roleplay, so when I made an account, I wanted to 'digivolve' it and named it Mega Mana.

It wasn't until two weeks later that someone mentioned Mega Man.

I was trying to come up with a name for Nintendo.com when I was like 10 or so, maybe younger? I wanted to name my account Luigi after my favorite Nintendo character but it and every combination of numbers after it was taken, so I finally came up with the idea of using his much less popular and still relatively new evil twin. Waluigi with no numbers was taken so I added a 1 after and I was born. I've used this username for just about everything ever since, including GFAQs. As the years have gone on though, it's become harder and harder to secure the name on stuff and plus it's a terrible name lol. I've been brainstorming new usernames for the future but I'm still not sure.
