It look's like a lazy rehash of Borderlands 2, they didn't even make the graphics much better. It look's like a last gen game.

Also the Dev's are SJW and banning people for accidentally engendering a robot (as if that's a real thing that can happen).

There are far better FPS Live Service games like Destiny 2 or The Division 2

I didn't even enjoy Borderlands 2 with a friend (it was just OK, we did beat it but couldn't get into NG+) so I have no idea. I guess people just like Borderlands?

Although the writing is cringy at times, Borderlands is a really awesome series with unique gameplay and an absurd amount of guns with possible different scopes, effects, etc. to discover. There is no other game like it out there.

That being said.
My interest was over 1,000% when I saw the Blands 3 trailer
And then it dropped to 0% as soon as they said it was going to be an EGS timed exclusive.

People are excited because Borderlands 1 and 2 were two of the most well received and best selling games of that generation. People still play Bl2 to this day, myself included. There's honestly nothing like it, and Borderlands 3 is not just a rehash of 2.

The Epic Games exclusivity is unfortunate for the PC fan base, but I'm a console player so if doesn't affect me. It's only a six month exclusivity, which is better than a year like Destiny has with Playstation exclusivity.

So what character is everyone itt trying out first? I want to play Zane with this one guy I'll be playing with on XBL(pretty sure he's picking Moze/FL4K first), but I'm not sure if I'll play FL4K or Moze first solo.

The first 2 games where good but gearbox and Epic and Randy are awefull.

Also if you want a full game then it's better to wait a year for the GOTY edition. That way you aren't paying full price for half a game.

Amara! Sirens have always been super fun and she has melee skills, and Krieg and Zero were amazing experiences running melee builds. Best of both worlds?

I still debating the order I want to go, but so far I think I'm doing:

1. Melee or Elemental Amara
2. Clone & Grenades Zane
3. Bottomless Mags Moze
4. Tanky or Crit Hit FL4K

BL2's humor was mediocre half the time, but teaming up with your buds to shoot holes in the local population is always fun.

Bahroo was talking about a killer Zane build that sounds like it's borderlands 3s version of Gothalions "drink coffee" build where you don't need to interact with the controller. Just get krieg with hell born shit and slap on a flame of the fire hawk and drink coffee while enemies die.

Moze w/ my 2 friends that I'll co-op with (1 for sure is playing FL4K, the other is unsure if he wants to play Amara or Zane). I'll also be doing a solo run since there are days where we can't all get on at the same time, and for that run I'm unsure if I want to play as Zane or FL4K.

the shit with FL4K is embarrassing, the creator makes THEM look masculine as fuck (for a robot), male VA, etc, but demands the entire playerbase to say they/them or else, because (drumroll) the creator is also non-binary and is emotionally invested in their self-insert character and feels attacked with each mis(en?)gendering. It's just such pointless crap because FL4K's cool, but the stupid "woke" drama leaves a shitty taste in my mouth. Guess I'm going Moze so I don't have to be guilt-tripped for referring to FL4K according to THEIR intended physical appearance and deep, gravelly, masculine voice.

Really wish the creator could have made a cool character and left the personal agenda/hangups at the door.

Honestly, I'm super hyped for when it's like sub $20.

The whole schtick is pretty tired with pre-sequel, Gearbox has been revealed to be a shit company, and the only character I ever really cared for fun-wise was Krieg.

The biggest problem with the series is that its not actually fun until youre in higher difficulties and have actual builds and variety. Before that its just a mediocre shlooter with bad jokes.

Hopefully save editing comes quick

If you don't get a new gun with the right element, you're slogging through the next section until you finish and get a gun for the next area and it's a breeze. The element system is whack. Should have been just the effects of the elements like lowering defense works great on enemies with high defense, damage over time great for enemies with high HP things like that. Instead the whole system is a fucking mess and makes playing the game casually a slog at times.

Not to mention the absolute rubbish system where you have to finish the story 4 times to hit max level per character. What a joke.

Ive literally never had that happen. You can equip 4 guns at a time and I always had one shock one fire one corrosive and one normal damage. Maybeee if youre trying to solo to lvl 90 or something where each level takes a long time, but everyone just uses uniques by then anyway

For what it is (open world FPS with RPG elements), it's still at the top of its genre. Every game since BL2 that's tried to emulate that formula has either been garbage (Destiny) or it's an abusive "live service" game (Evolve, Anthem) that witholds like half of the content via a storefront.

Problem is at the very worst it could turn out as the latter the way 2K runs things now but that's why you wait for the GOTY edition just like the first 2 games, which were pretty fucking fun with the DLC campaigns added on.

really? I went through a section where I had all the guns I had at my disposal, and none of them were the right element except maybe much older underpowered guns

Idk what happened to you or what playthrough you were on. But in my thousand hours in bl2, the only legitimate time in the game where the mechanics failed the player was if you didn't find any corrosive weapons before the bloodshot dam where you rescue Roland in normal mode. It's really early and the game doesn't allow all potential loot to drop until level ten to not overwhelm the player and sometimes I'd not find a corrosive gun here. Luckily, in playthrough 1, elemental resistance isn't barely there at all. You can legit kill bots with fire weapons. They built the game smart like this on purpose early on in case the player doesn't understand elements. Even tho there's a very straightforward quest with Marcus in sanctuary that explains them.

Lmao yeah I never experienced what @biggernails is talking about . I played all three games solo and never had a problem with "wrong element weapons" for regular play. There are quests where you need to get X number of kills with different elements and you need the weapon for that but those are usually optional side quests with minimal rewards.

And furthermore, borderlands 2 and on, has always been about skills and synergy with specific gear, and less about weapons. That's another thing people do wrong. They get too hung up on weapons.

See I don't know how I feel about this. I think I'd be okay with getting to the cap in one playthrough (it'd have to be a long ass playthrough) but I still think I'd want to have the option of resetting the playthrough to go back through it again at max level. Idk.
