What we need is torture, prolonged torture, that is TELEVISED so anyone thinking of doing this can see what they have in store for them. Even then, they could just shoot themselves etc and escape punishment so I don't know if it would stop.

Just sad that people want to do this at all in the first place.

Laws can be changed, but....I do pretty much agree with avoiding as much suffering as possible. The only way you could ever convince me to do something like torture people is if it was enough of a deterant to prevent a bunch of other people suffering, so over all it was less suffering.

But yeah, I guess we really shouldn't torture people sigh. But there is really no solution to this then.

Strange how people start talking about torture and killing (sometimes involving people who had no direct involvement with the incident like the killer's parents) and so on when something like this happens, and they genuinely don't realize they come off no better than the killer before he started acting on his thoughts/feeling. Maybe this insane, bloody, and warped view of """Justice""" in this country is part of problem...? Nah, couldn't be.

Third mass shooting this week but the weapons manufacturers are still cranking out firearms and ammunition like were about to have a zombie apocalypse

they need to start being held accountable for all the firearms in this country. They make enough money that they can help fund registration and background checks, that money shouldnt only come from taxpayers. And folks who own guns legally but dont secure them need to face legal responsibility if they didnt do anything to keep their mentally unstable nephew or whatever from getting their hands on the weapons. Gun stores need to share accountability too.

Its long past time to end this wild west Raegan era bullshit. We can have second amendment rights while at the same time have common sense laws like we do for every other fucking thing. Its time to do something about all these murdered kids

Fair point but McDonalds actually does do some things to provide healthier alternatives on their menu and displays nutrition information

the issue with guns is that law abiding people should have access to them but not in a largely unregulated and unfettered way that creates so much danger and fear that it encroaches on the freedom of others

This is utterly ridiculous. As has been previously stated, are we going to start holding Hershey's accountable for the obese? Is Smirnoff now on the hook for alcoholics? Do we start holding knife manufacturers accountable for stabbings as well? And then on top of that, you want to hold victims of theft accountable as well?

As long as there are better laws to regulate guns out of the hands of people who should not have them, I agree.
