Full Throttle?

How long has this been going on?

I take a peek at whats happening on the board once or twice a year when insomnia gets the best of me.

Usually, I feel like things are mostly the same. But this is absurd.

I put him on ignore a long time ago and it's only every so often I even remember he still exists... doing... whatever it is that he's been doing all this time. I don't even know how to describe it.

yeah i get thinking "wow that guy is odd" but i don't get like, disliking it at all.

I don't dislike him. his topics just clutter the board. easier for me to find the topics I want to read if I automatically remove the topics I know I don't want to read.

I went and counted the topics by usernames that I saw a bunch, and this is how many have active topics. He doesn't even have the most, and he doesn't lead too much over numerous others.

SHINE: assorted video game-related things
Han: running a game of mafia
Full Throttle: clickbait
Zen and myself: running bracket contests
ertyu: running a poll contest
charon: running King of the Mountain (a Save My contest)

You are right. I was just making the comparison that plenty of other users have specialties as well, and if someone feels the need to block mrduckbear because his specialty is cluttering the board, then, using that logic, there are other users they could block if they never post in their specialty topics.

Said comparison also doesn't take into account posts. Full Throttle effectively never posts anything other than clickbait topics - between two accounts, he only has 81 active posts, despite also posting on CE and possibly other boards. At the very least, ignoring Han, Zen, charon, or myself would cause you to miss out on a decent number of posts unrelated to our respective niches.

Edit, at above: I've been ignoring (not the user-based function) Full Throttle topics for a very long time. Reading the most recent few now, though, I have to admit that some parts are surprisingly funny.

Political topics he posts on CE, PotD and 261 (Politics)
Movie-related topics he posts on CE, PotD and 227 (Movies: At the Theater)

I love Full Throttle/mrduckbear topics. He has Youtube channels, too. On one, he uploaded episodes of a TV show I wanted to watch and I'm glad I binge-watched it because that channel (unsurprisingly) got deleted.

One of his topics was about somebody of the right demographic dying in a town where one of my friends is from. I had a brief crisis because I was afraid I was about to find about their death from a fucking Full Throttle topic of all places. Imagine that actually happening to you

Full Throttle rules.

Right now, I'm balancing a full-time office job with full-time graduate studies. I've made some friends in both, but Christ, there's so much banality. Toothless, minced conversations abound, as well as forced discussion board posts for the online classes and office "jokes" that get beaten to death for months. You know, "A hOt DoG iSn'T a SaNdWiCh" and the like.

Let me tell you, when duty calls and you need to be in these ecosystems, you appreciate the weirdos - the Full Throttles - way more. At least that's my experience.
