Damn the demon girl show too huh? :(. Gonna finish up Hitoribocchi today even though I also dont want to finish it because its so good. I havent seen a lot still, but so far its my pick for Comedy of the Year. Im not sure if I even watched another comedy from this year though. I guess MOB S2, but I dont really recall the second season being hilarious or anything.

Forgot OPM S2, but that didnt have too much comedy either really

People getting hyped up over the Accelerator spinoff kinda baffles me, since honestly it just makes me think of the Unlimited and how crappy that was, and I just wish they made an anime of the spinoff where Accelerator was an idol instead.

and that was what I was getting at anyway, that the problem is that it kind of feels like it doesn't really "get" the story and characters and themes and lazilly rehashes past plotlines with pointless OC donutsteals and everything just being angry chuuni all the time to draw in new fans who eat up the whole chuuni aesthetic but probably won't stick around or bother with the rest of the series so it's just kind of a waste.

(it's still amuses me that the fanbase as a whole apparently got taken over from the inside by fujioshi though)

I've read like 3 or 4 volumes of the Accelerator manga apparently, and it feels like totally pointless rehash that hasn't really done anything significant yet or doesn't really go anywhere yet or add anything significant to the series like railgun frequently does. and I can't help but think the Accelerator OC donutsteals are more entertaining in spinoffs other than the one they actually debuted in.

now I'd still probably give the Accelerator anime a chance, since maybe it would work better animated, and I've heard someone speculate that the plot kind of mirrors/parallels/foreshadows what happens super late in the main series (as in, basically what happened at the end of NT)... but IDK something kind of similar happened earlier in Railgun so it still seems kind of rehashy...?

Having spinoffs that appeal to different groups isn't exactly uncommon. I don't begrudge SD Gundam for appealing to babies, so why does Accelerator and Unlimited appealing to different groups upset you so much?

I dont think this is really fair. Most people are not going to really remember most shows. But Mac is right, people generally like the Unlimited. I mean, I like it too. I dont think its the best anime ever, but I did think it was one of the surprising titles of the season when it aired. Not being memorable, or in this case, I guess just being kind of lost in the sea of unending seasonal anime, doesn't really make it a bad show.

Hitoribocchi is cute as hell with some cringe that is also usually adorable, while Watamote just makes you want to die and never think about it again. They're kinda similar in concept but the tone is so different that they may as well not be.

The thing is this isn't what Watamote is AT ALL once you get passed the anime's stopping point. Just one glance at the most recent chapter will show that. It's amazing how that manga grows.

Hitoribocchi beated. Oh man this show was so good. It was funny and adorable and just a really good feel good type of show. Bocchi has amazing faces and is just super adorable. Watching her make friends feels so rewarding. Nako is amazing and so unlike how youd expect her character to be. Shes such a supportive friend to Bocchi and its great seeing her constantly be there for her. Aru is so unfortunate, but thats part of her charm and somehow I didnt get tired of that joke being used so much either. Sotoka is the only one of the main 4 I thought was out of place because the whole ninja thing seems to random compared to everything else, but shes not bad. Kako is so stubborn about not making friends, but it comes off in such an adorable way because she has to try so hard to resist Bocchis kindness/charm. Kai is a terrible friend and I hope she never gets a good amount of screen time. Bocchi should just ditch her because Nako is clearly her new best friend already. Man I love this show so much and I hope it gets another season. Pretty much every episode put a smile on my face or made me laugh.

BEM watched, that's the season. Kinda dull, but not giving up yet.

Making that post actually reminded me that I hadn't finished Cinderella Nine so I watched the last few episodes of that.

Cinderella Nine was fine. The animation was low quality more often than not but I don't care about stuff like that. One or two episodes focused on dumb drama too, which wasn't great. Still, for the most part it was cute girls playing baseball and on that front it was decent. Not up there with the great cute girl sports anime like Scorching Ping Pong Girls or anything, but I don't regret watching it.

Now to check out cute stuff from this season! I also just realized Kakegurui S2 is out! Oh man S1 was in my top 10 anime, I need to get on that.

Three first episodes down. Sucks that none of the fun anime seem to be on Crunchyroll.

Wasteful Days of High School Girl was kind of meh but it looks like it could have potential if the side characters get more focus. None of the main three did anything for me but Loli and the chuuni girl were fun.

Dumbbells was also kind of meh, I don't care about the exercise information and there wasn't much past that. Maybe it'll improve once they introduce more characters, muscle fetish girl was boring.

The Demon Girl Next Door was pretty good! I like the premise and all the characters so far. AotS imho

Watched through Kakegurui XX aka season two. Yumeko is still amazing and there were a lot of good moments, but overall it moved away from what I loved about the first season. Most of the individual games went in a direction I didn't like as much. Hard to say why that is without spoilers. Ah well. S1 is still 10/10 and this didn't ruin it or anything, so I'm content leaving Kakegurui in my top ten anime even if S2 wasn't at the same level.

Holy fuck that's not what I expected to wake up to. Some of the most talented artists and directors in the business there. KyoAni are a wonderful company too, just about all their works are positive and feel-good, and they're one of the few anime studios that don't horribly overwork employees. Don't know what kind of sick bastard would do this.
