Man I sure did completely drop that after the 3rd episode and proceed to not follow a single moment of it after.

Ending of episode 3 was just such weird whiplash, turned me off of it altogether!

I watched We Never Learn and made it through...I think also 8 episodes of Senryu Girl. Was also watching Shield Hero but fell behind at around the same point.

Really didn't care about this season.

Am also planning on watching Sarazanmai and Carole and Tuesday at some point, but I either didn't want to or couldn't watch them weekly.

A delay, which was one of the options I put forward. Looks like even JoJo couldn't escape the seasonal forces. Very surprised they got a slot for the 5th, must be that the show taking over its's slot doesn't start until the 12th.

Still, came out way better than Kekkai Sensen did.

I've finished most things that have actually finished. There are a couple of shows I plan on marathoning in the next couple of days before most of the shows for summer start to air. Going over them in airing order. If it's not on the list I didn't bother to pick it up. If a show is still airing I've seen at least 11 episodes of it.

YU-NO (Dropped Episode 3)
-The premise/plot of this has a good backbone to make an interesting show. But the characters are as bland as hell. Every single female is just massively in it for the protagonist's dick, or just sees him as someone who is extremely important. It's not even a harem though, like, in reality he's just chummy with everyone for no good reason. Iirc, (because I have not watched this in like 2 months) the show is also pretty lacking in the music department as for as the Inserts go, like enough where I have a mental note about it. The animation is also, pretty lacking.

Million Arthur S2 (and S1) 5/10 and 6/10
-Let's be clear, I don't think these are good shows in terms of their technical quality and their scores are pretty much purely for their charm. Think of something like Last Period (only not as good as it doesn't have fun frienemies like Wiseman). The first season is slightly better because the second one gets kind of too serious for its own good. But each episode or two usually introduces a different enemy with some ridiculous power that's pretty funny. The cast is one dimensional, but the entertaining kind.

Fruits Basket
-I don't have much to say about this right now. It's a very good show without any real glaring flaws, but I don't think it's really done anything exceptional to set it apart from other good shows. Like it lacks real memorable moments that can make a show like this exceptional.

Hitori Bocchi's Lifestyle (8/10)
-This show was great. I really enjoyed Hitori Bocchi's adventures in trying to get over her shyness to make friends. I thought that they managed to sprinkle in a few more tense moments with some foreshadowing without making it feel out of place in a rather light-hearted show. I also really like the designs of the cast, it's very moe but it's still artistically distinct. The cast is very fun too, each of them have an eccentricity that brings out a lot of the humor in the show. I like the ninja girl.

Mix (Dropped Episode 2)
-Oh, a sports anime. Really, if a sports show doesn't catch my attention on episode 1 I'll probably drop it.

Kimetsu no Yaiba
-So, this is obviously a very good show right now. Great animation with a good mix of comedy and action elements tossed in. I don't think everything it does hits the mark perfectly, but I don't have a lot of big complaints.

Gunjou no Magmell (Dropped episode 6)
-I was somewhat fine with this being like a bunch of one-offs where there is a problem and then a lesson at the end of the episode. But most of the show feels pretty dull and it's like they want to push some sort of story forward, but choose not to to expand this anime to a whopping... 13 episodes.

Kono Oto Tomare!
-This should be a show I really like, but there is something about it that seems just very... unauthentic for a lack of a better word. I think pacing is a bit of a mess, some issues are solved in like an episode or two, while they try to have huge long build ups in other places. I could somewhat understand this if the show was not getting a second season later. As far as the characters go, I actually like them. Houzuki is by far the best one as far as her characterization goes, but they all have distinct reactions to different situations. That is except whenever they hear a good koto performance where they suddenly become the same person, and this happens A LOT. So the actual koto parts a pretty much huge time fillers.

We Never Learn (dropped episode 2)
-Dark skinned girl almost saved the show.

Why the hell are you here, sensei? (7/10)
-I think a good description of this anime would be, what if falling over and grabbing a boob was turned up to 11? The entire thing is unfortunately very censored, and fan service is a pretty big selling point for a title like this. The cast really makes the show though and I think the pairings do a lot to help make otherwise cut and repeat scenarios more interesting. They also manage to develop a lot of chemistry in a short amount of time.

RobiHachi (4/10)
-Space Dandy, only mediocre.

Fairy Gone (Dropped Episode 7)
-In terms of production quality, this show has a lot going for it. Even the set up for the characters had a lot of potential. But it doesn't lead anywhere. At episode 7 I felt no closer to understanding the world or what was really going on from when things were laid on in the first episode.

Cinderella 9 (Dropped episode 3)
-More like Cinderella 9 frames of animation.

Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin (5/10)
-The obvious comparison to this show is Natsume's Book of Friends. I don't think they really set up the story behind each yokai which made something like Natsume good, and they also don't have the best dynamic between the main character, Arata, and those around him, somewhat similar to the two mains in The Morose Mononokean. Not saying it's bad, but its deficiencies are obvious as it has plenty of direct comparisons I can draw from. I think the biggest issue I have is that the entire thing is not based on like Natsume can see yokai and people shun him, it's that a lot of people can see yokai and Arata is the only one who can understand them, so his issue is trying to get humans and yokai to coexist. This is all well and good, but the anime goes out of its way to make sure you know that humans have always seen yokai and completely unapproachable and that there is no meaning to anything they did, and that nothing they could do would change that. It's this element that just takes you so far outside the realm of suspended disbelief that brings things down. It would be fine if like maybe there was an arc about this, but this is like the entire show.

Isekai Quartet (8/10)
-I thought this started kind of slowly, as it did a lot to just get characters acclimated with the setting. But this show obviously has some amazing character interactions I thought I would never get to see. As someone who has seen all of the shows (okay I saw one episode of Tanya), this was really fun. I'm also glad that Aqua was the Konosoba girl they chose to be the main one.

One Punch Man S2
-I have to say, there just is not enough punching in this season of the anime. Like animation drop aside, I like that they have been building up the big bad for a long time (and Saitama just randomly beating him without knowing who he is). Also, needs more Tornado.

Fox Waifu Anime (7/10)
-I actually don't have much to add here. It's a cute show that does what it sets out to do very well but not much more than that. I like Senko-chan, but if I'm honest if she was in like a waifu lineup, she's not really my type.

Wise Man's Grandchild (5/10)
-Pretty much another OP character anime, only he also makes a team of other less OP powered characters. On the plus side, I really like a lot of the character interactions. I think they manage to bring in the entire cast quite well. I like glasses girl. The action is also pretty good and there is a good elvel of fun. But the overall story is not very interesting and I'm not sold on the explanation on why Shin is just so much stronger than everyone else like no one has come along before him that didn't think about magic the way he does.

Carole & Tuesday
-The overall direction in this title is very good. It moves along at pretty much a perfect pace. But I also think that the main characters don't quite have the charisma that really draws me to them. Like, the show presents it as they have it, but it's kind of forced down your throat. I also think, at least right now, it lacks a big dramatic element (somewhat like Nana), to really pull things together.

Sarazanmai (Dropped Episode 4)
-I think anyone who sees like one episode of this and has been watching anime for a while knows that this is a Kunihiko Ikuhara project, or at least can identify that this is by the guy who did shows like Utena and Penguindrum. A lot of his projects have this kind of social issues/conversations etc type feel to it and not all of them really hit the mark. I feel like maybe he went a little too far all in here. I felt like this was more him screaming something as loud as possible and just dropping random twist on twist on us rather than having an excellent ending after loads of character development and story build up like we got in Penguindrum.

Attack on Titan S3 part 2 (9/10)
-Not sure why this has to be like S3 part 2 officially, but okay. If we go back to like S2, I have liked not loved AoT after the first season. Even the first part of S3 I think had a lot of issues, and it was not until Krista's arc where I really started to really take notice that the show was becoming more than just good. The this part is great, lots of good Titan battles, and they don't waste a lot of time with unneeded political stuff, which is important to the overal story, but not the the extent where they focus on it. I do think that the last two episodes might have been able to combine into 1, but right now this is the best show that technically started airing this season.

Hold overs
The Rising of Shield Hero (7/10)
-In terms of like how fun this is to watch I put it kind of like where slime is. I really like the main cast and the journey together. But I'm also not a fan of just how far they go to make almost every other major character a complete jerk even outside the realm of believability. It's like no one is just a neutral party, you either hate the shield hero or you really like him. Even like Sword and Bow, who pretty early on have suspicions that Naofumi might not be that bad of a guy just end up being huge asses at the end. I know in the LN the entire main cast goes through some pretty heavy changes and I'm wondering if we'll ever see this get a second season.

Dororo (9/10)
-I debated giving this a 10 (the last 10 I gave was to Revue Starlight), but determined that the quality drop overall in the second half was a little too noticeable to ignore. But that aside this anime is a joy to watch. Both visually and thematically it's very different from a lot of stuff airing now (likely due to the age of the source material). I really liked how grounded the entire cast is in a world with demons and such as a common thing. Characters typically did not do things outside of the realm of what I believe they would do. This is, unfortunately, an amazon prime title, so it's likely not to reach as many eyes as I think it should.

It's still workable, here's two scenarios:

-Assuming current trends, chapter 140 would release in April 2021 which means there's 50 chapters of material, 2 chapters per episode, 25 episodes. If the last episode was Sunday, May 9 (month following the last chapter, Brotherhood-style) then the series would need to return November 22, 2020 - which is in the "Fall", after all.
-Same deal but 138 chapters for 24 episodes, last chapter in February, last episode in March = October 2020 return date, still in the fall

And probably some other ways to make it work including stretching out the material to less than 2 chapters per episode. Could work, just depends how much of the manga is left... it would be strange if they took that 3 year delay after season 1 only to diverge from the manga by the end of its run.
