So my wife has just started getting into anime and I'm not sure what I should have her try.

She started with One Piece cause it was my favorite and she was curious. She absolutely loves it and is caught up.

Then she tried Fruits Basket and finds it hilarious and is really enjoying that.

We are halfway through FMA:B and she likes it but definitely not as much as the other two.

Comedy/silliness seems to be a big plus for her. Any recommendations for stuff on crunchyroll or Netflix for her to try?

Yaiba is excellent, but it's pretty painful to watch as a reader sometimes. It looks great and the production is top notch, but christ do they drag it out. This episode should have covered twice as much content.

Haha, apparently most of Shaft's animators left the studio to work at David. That's a big reason they've barely done anything in the past couple years.

Relatedly, apparently Fire Force will have two 24 episode seasons with a few months between. Cool that it's getting a long adaptation.

Unless they left even before Jojo took off Id say its been more than a couple years. Shaft has been coasting on lazy anime gravy money for a while now. Theyre basically just the Monogatari and Madoka studio for the last 8~ years

well Jojo was 2011-2012 so that would have been a loooooong time ago

I wouldnt worry about it. Theyll keep doing Monogatari and Madoka until theyre done because thats about all theyve got left to make money on

Id be ok with another Denpa Onna despite not liking those two characters. Id love to see another season of Gourmet Girl Graffiti, but it will never happen :(

Astra Lost In Space ep1 - This is technically a double episode since it was a 48min premiere, but I really enjoyed it and it went by pretty fast. It was honestly almost like watching a movie more than an episode and not just because of the length, but the way it looked and was directed felt very movie-like to me if that makes sense. I dunno how theyre gonna manage to fit all of it into 12 episodes without messing with pacing, but maybe they can make it work or maybe by some miracle it will get a second season. Either way I like the cast so far, theres some good voice work and Im interested in seeing more already. Its got some fine looking waifus too.

I lowkey want all the episodes to be 48 minutes after watching the first one.

Demon Lord, Retry ep1 - it bothers me the description says he meets a one-legged girl and yet she has 2 legs and neither appears to be prosthetic or anything. There were a lot of other dumb things too though like him literally shouting Administrator and summoning a virtual keyboard where he entered his password and then when he didnt get his administrative powers he was all so this isnt the game world then? Literally what. This episode wasnt very good honestly. I dunno if its super bad drop worthy, but uh definitely left a lot to be desired. About the only pros are the MC being an adult even in the game world (it says his character is 45 even) and the main girl is kinda adorable.

Wow, they really put some effort into Dumbells, huh? To think I was worried about this likely ending up being a 0 budget 10 minute short just a couple months ago.

I'm more interested in Robotics Notes Dash, since the basic plot synopsis is something to the effect of Daru showing up due to some problem related to Chaos Child, but it makes sense to bring the original out first. And it's probably just going to be like Steins Gate 0 in terms of scope and be mostly fan disc ish and mainly have some scenes of the characters in seasonal holiday events with some other plot elements tacked on to move everything along.

Finally getting around to Astra. A few minutes in, the production is mostly typical Lerche, but for some reason...the letterboxing they've gone with here is super appealing? I'm not sure why it's here or why they've done it, but I like it.
