Got 1 coating, we had to quit early cus our WAR's internet kept crapping out half way through 3s, so we said screw it we'll do it Thursday. We are NEVER going to get all 4 in one night. XD We are eternally cursed.

Ended up having to pug 3 and 4. For 4 we got a black mage, and an admittedly pretty good one, so between them, me, and our sam, we were just melting the boss. But, at the yellow diamonds at the end of the car phase, he just didn't move, and stood under the car where I couldn't see him, so he killed both of us, and got mad at me. Dude. No. You're the pug here, we all know where we're supposed to be, and you didn't bring up a word about where you want to stand. If you want the middle, fine, but freaking ask next time. :P

Anywho, it is an estimated 38-39 days until I am in my new apartment and should have Internet. I am going to need help with some items such as a capture card so I can stream my PS4 through my laptop, and maybe a new screen as well for when I am not doing that. I intend to start putting my Twitch account to good use with Shadowbringers, Octopath, and the 2.0 version of BTB's Brave New World. *Crosses her fingers*

Any help I can get would be appreciated. There is a lot I will need, not just for my gaming but also setting up my new apartment.

we 1-nighted eden (1 wipe to e3s, 3 wipes to e4s)

pld was still a douche the one single time i made a mistake near the end of e4s (after our mnk disconnected, my gcds got interrupted and i walked too far out and got hit by megalith trying to recover), when he made multiple mistakes leading up to that leading to me having way depleted mana for most of the fight

two vuln stacks in the first set of evil earths and i kept him alive as main tank, this is the kind of thanks i get when we're doing well

Got my GNB to 80, started leveling MNK.

Been leveling my crafters. My crafter levels are all over the place lol. ALC is 80, a few others are 78, a couple are 75, and 2 are 72. But, I got about 6 levels total today, I only need like 28 more levels to go, and I feel like the rest of this is actually going to go pretty fast. I'm fairly certain I'm gonna meet my goal of getting them all to 80 and gearing up before 5.1

I'm very very curious if the Blizzard controversy is going to cause an influx of wowfugees. >.>

It is an odd case, me thinks. People get more and more fed up with Blizz, leave for other games including FFXIV, and then go back in some number when something big comes along such as WoW Classic; then it repeats.

At this point, I accept that Blizz is ill and self-inflicting, and FFXIV is still growing in size despite the people who end up leaving it for one reason or another.

32-ish days to go until the likely apartment move-in date. Hopefully it will not take long to get my Internet, updates, etc., all going so I can play. Until then, I think Ian is going to pop into my house and run one more seasonal event for me. I will need to remember to change my password after that so Fae or whomever can reinstate my officer position in the FC.

bfa is terrible right now and the only reason legion was amazing was because they spent double the time on it due to abandoning ship during WoD to work on it... so the only way next expansion will probably be good is if its years off

hearthstone in particular is going to take massive hits from this debacle that won't recover easily, hots is dead, sc2 has had nothing interesting and new going for it for half a decade, diablo is literally a laughing stock

fights are super forgiving when you're geared

only reason we died in e2s was because we were trying a meme strat where the tank stands closer than usual (healer flare SW, dps flare + party E, tank NW but in melee range of boss. died by a few thousand HP first time because we didnt really change anything, used more mitigation 2nd time and lived with like 60k

Well it took 2 hours. >______> But we cleared 4s this week. XD I don't know why but somehow, every single run we would get to the end, then something would go wrong and people would start dying and we'd wipe at like 3%. And this was our fifth clear as a group... But at least we cleared it!

good thing is that at least healers don't generally have to worry about the pre-enrage bullshit damage that comes out as we've outgeared it, unless quite a few deaths happen

man that part is not fun if anything goes wrong in the few minutes before that and you have to expend resources out of order

I've done that plenty of times before xd

one thing you can do that may help is make a teamcraft list of everything you need to make, and then just click the name of materials/recipes to copy the entire name to clipboard. can't make mistakes like that if you're copypasting

teamcraft in general is just super great for crafting anything in ffxiv and I'd highly recommend looking into it if you haven't yet. you input your stats and can search for community-made rotations that work with those stats, there's tons of lists for everything from zodiac stuff to leve stuff to full sets of gear for particular level ranges, you can calculate real profit fairly easily, the rotation helper tells you when you have unneeded steps (or stuff like using ingenuity 2 when 1 works fine for that recipe), etc

Ooh I'll have to check that out, sounds very useful. My goal today is to get CRP and CUL to 80, then try to get a couple levels on GSM or BSM.

My CRP is 79
BSM is 72, very close to 73
ARM is 80
GSM is 74 almost 75
LTW is 75
WVR is 80
ALC is 80
CUL is 78 about halfway to 79

So getting those two to 80 is very feasible and should be pretty painless. Kinda not all that enthused about BSM, GSM or LTW, those seem like they might be kinda annoying.

But. I'm curious, will I need to farm white scrip gear or something? My goal is make my own HQ crafted set, but in fully upgraded 70 scrip gear, probably won't be possible.

I think there are two types of people. Those who see value in focusing on one game, paying its fee, and squeezing everything they can from that. Then others who prefer to go from one experience to the next more rapidly.

The game director of FFXIV straight up says "if you've run out of things to do, unsubscribe and come back later." There are no infinite grinds like other games and it's very casual friendly.

I'm subscribed and I essentially only log in one time a week for 2-4 hours. And it's fun enough that it's the only entertainment expenditure I make most months, because the rest of the games I play are f2p. When new content hits, I'll play far more for a while, then it'll peter out as I go play other games. And it's enjoyable this way.

White scrip gear is essentially budget gear. It has higher stats than unmelded crafted gear, but lower potential. To get to the super cool 2-button crafting rotation where you can craft EVERYTHING in the game on a macro, you'll need to meld a LOT of CP, other stats are barely important lol.

Depends entirely on how much money you have basically, and your ability to craft white scrip gear. I bought crafted body and farmed white scrip mainhands for the classes I care about. Scrip mainhands is fine for specialist classes, but you'll need crafted everything for the non-specialists.

Took a quick break to help a friend get Zurvan's bird. Turns out, you cannot kill Zurvan in the first phase, his hp only goes to 1 before the first transition.

It sounds like facets are great for the classes you want to do less leves or collectibles for. Good to know, especially if someone notes for me the worst ones for particular level ranges.

Yeah I have a google doc from the balance that I put my gear and melds into and it tells me exactly what it does to my dps, and what I needed to change for BiS. It was SUPER helpful while progging savage.

I'm curious if they will do to crafters and gatherers in 5.1 what they did back in 4.1. Like, will we get a ShB equivalent to Ala Mhigan gear? If so, then I'd wait on crazy melds until I have that gear, which I may or may not get on both Aster and Lyra (or else the latter will wait to late 5.3 to gear up crafters and gatherers). We'll see, I guess.

This morning, for the first time since my real-life crisis had begun, I paid for my own sub for a month. This way, Rioka can hit the seasonal event on Aster and Lyra for me, walk into my house one more time to prevent the timer from going forward, and then I should be back with a changed password and restored officership in the middle of November.

I will have so much waiting for me to sift through and organize before I can even begin the ShB story. I'm starting with Drk, and will be grabbing the tome sword and updating my tank glam for the first time in uhh... Since right before 2.5? lol
