They helped me get over some levelling humps on dps classes, but that's about it.

Felt like they cleared slightly faster than trusts in most level ranges, but were really stupid, but were really durable.

Felt like they cleared slightly faster than trusts in most level ranges, but were really stupid, but were really durable.

Well yeah, squadrons were precursors to XIV's Trusts, and Trusts were designed specifically to take about half an hour per dungeon. Squadrons were designed to be dumb but kinda quick, especially when the bug existed that allowed you to repeatedly "commence the assault" and end so many fights so fast.

My Bard is 79, and third of the way to 80 almost, and my Scholar and Summoner are 78, halfway to 79. Just from doing my dailies--pixie beast quests, roulettes, third rank of Nutsy marks--I am curious to see which of these will hit 80 first.

Then I need to use HoH to get Dnc (now 63) to 70, and the Stormblood leveling dungeons to send Gnb on its merry way. That way I can make a little room in my armory, though I suppose I can do that already for Dnc.

Today, after dailies, I plan to pick up the relevant weekly quest in Idyll, and then run Dun Scaith in the hopes of getting the belt and pants for casters. When I turn in the quest, I am getting the caster earrings. I am hoping the level 60 AF gear--assuming BLU is given some--will be good on secondary stats. The other accessories will be covered by the Shire set and Crit V melds. Perhaps I will do DS on Rdm so I can Need on those two pieces of gear.

Assuming my success with the belt and pants, I will see if I can't get some more BLU skills.

Then I will do any dungeon running AST needs to hit 74, and HoH runs to get Dnc to 76.

Oh yeah 2 days ago I got my PLD to 80 and I got my Amaro. :D So my goals now are:
1) Level up and gear up my BLU this week, and complete all the challenges.
2) To gear up my tanks, and just spam the extreme trials in hopes of getting a gwiber, and also to get credit for my tank mounts!
3) Spam Firmament crafts to get the rewards I missed.
4) Spam leves to get the Honest Gillionaire title.
5) Spam PVP for mounts.
6) Continue to prog TEA, though we've made very little progress in the past month, and I'm kinda getting burnt out on it. We're STILL trying to figure out dolls and protean waves. IDK why it's taking so long to get past literally the very first mechanics. =/ Like every once in a blue moon we'll have a breakthrough and we'll get past protean waves. Then the next 60 pulls we just die over and over and over to dolls.

4) Spam leves to get the Honest Gillionaire title.

I remember grinding that one out over the course of a few months, starting from around 2.1mil out of 10mil. I used the leve that asks for palladium ink, and made 18 of them HQ each day (three turn-ins for each of six allowances). That was 8100 gil or more, on average, per leve. I am sure ShB has a better one in terms of reward for the mats and effort required. Look through the last two sets of leves per class for an item that is easy to gather for and make HQ, and be ready to do 18 of that item every day for a while.

I'm not sure, yet, when I'll ever get the 20mil achievement, but it's so low on my list of priorities.

I got pants from DS tonight, and did that quest. It's the necklace that's BiS, not the earrings as I had stated before; at least I got them. I suppose I'll grab the Aug. Shire Belt and hope for the best with what gear they give us on BLU 60.

I had also planned to do more with HoH tonight, but I ran out of both time and energy. In fact, I nearly dozed off once or twice just typing this message. Time to go to bed and have this sleepiness suddenly be no longer there, as is common when feeling sleepy. =p

I appreciate that they give you bonuses for clearing content on BLU now, and all of the Extreme/Savage achievements will probably take me months to get. I'm excited!

Also, Aetherial Mimicry is so cool. If you use on someone, you assume their role. So like if you use it on a healer. you assume a healer stance, and your healing spells gain potency. Or if you use it on a tank, you become a tank. That's so cool! Although it's mechanics like this is why BLU may never be a full job...

Those content chievs will take me a long while as well, even if I concentrated on them, because of my work and sleep schedule. That's not even counting how I still want to get more books out or play other games after I've caught up with leveling/gearing up in FFXIV.

Also, did Thok ast Thok hard for a spell. So one of the BLUs was tanking and for some fucking reason at the butterflies they ran around and physically touched all the butterflies. If you remember, Ravana does a bunch of cleaves at this part. So it turns out. He killed pretty much everyone except me and him. So we got the spell. Then we spent like an hour trying to help the rest get it. And when he FINALLY taught it agian, he did the exact same damn thing and kill 3 people. So I was just like "sorry guys gotta go!" I'm not spending my whole day dealing with this guy's stupidity. -_-

So BLU is 60, geared, and working slowly to gain spells.

DNC is 68, meaning it will be 70 by the weekend and wearing the gear Brd used to utilize, and Mch still dawns. Then I will finally do the Dnc quests, which I fully expect to be kinda easy-ish with an iLV around 390.

Pixies reputation is maxed until the big quest chain at the end of the xpac that unites the tribes, meaning I will get the most exp possible from them going forward. I've picked up the rewards I want from them, too, so any extra tokens can go toward materia.

MCH is nearly 71 from beast dailies alone, and NIN is bound to follow. By the time NIN hits 71, DNC will long-since be ready to level with those daily quests.

AST is 76 and might need a better weapon than the Seiryu 395 one in case I get something higher-level during Leveling Roulette such as Mal's Well or Mt. Gulg. I am hoping to get that job to 80 by the end of the weekend, which will be great for armory space since it's my last healer I'm leveling until 6.0.

GNB remains at 61 at the moment, but will be kicking off the grind through StB dungeons soon. Once that one hits 70 with the dungeons--and then 71 via a combination of roulette and beast dailies--that will be even more armory space freed up.

I have decided getting RDM to 80 will be next after all of this. Beast dailies, alliance raids roulette, leveling roulette if someone in the FC is tanking or healing, and FATEs will be how I'm doing it.

I intend to run MNK and SAM through the leveling dungeons with half of the Trust characters, run Drg through FATEs and daily quests, and then have PLD and DRK accompany the other half of the Trust characters. But I will do this after RDM is leveled. lol

There won't be much left for combat jobs after that; MCH (saving for last), DNC, GNB, NIN, and BLM all to 80 from 71. Also, at some point, I need to level the crafters and gatheres, and possibly decide if I really want to go ham with the crafting leve achievements as well. It would be impressive, but it would be time consuming. I mean, I already want to stack the last combat job with the last rank 3 area of ShB's shared FATEs. That is going to be fun, especially since I am sort of wanting to save either Amh or Khol for last, and there is no telling how often I'll catch Khol's special FATE when other people are doing it.

Oh! I have all of the special FATEs done at least once now for achievements. I just need the Kholusia one two more times for the mount. I'll pass on the frog suit, as amusing as it is.

It's unlikely I'll be finished by New Years, but I can maybe aim for Patch 5.2. We shall see.

Got all the dungeon, world and raid spells. All I have left to do is complete the final challenge of Masked Carnivale and I'll be 80/80 spells. After that I'm gonna farm alex gear with Velo, then I need to find a group that's crazy enough to do all those old raids with me for the Morbol. XD

Also doing like living liquid and brute justice with all blus was... interesting... I wonder why people do content they've never seen before on a class they've never played before and don't understand. XD

I really do feel as though they're making excuses for reducing the number of dungeons per patch with each successive expansion. I miss 2.4-2.5 when we got 3 dungeons per, they were decent or better, and we also still got a fair deal of content besides. I was willing to forgive in Heavensward until both iterations of Diadem came out. Then in StB they cut a dungeon out on odd-numbered patches and gave us the land of squandered potential - Eureka. Doubled trials sounds nice, but... seriously.

Woot, cleared Twintannia, so 1/6 for Morbol. :D Got Nael to about 50% in our best attempt. I have a feeling the ARR fights are gonna be harder simply because at that point they didn't really know what they were doing, and they were still figuring out how to do mechanics.

Also, we finally made really good progress in TEA! We saw LL's enrage XD So we stll have like... 85% of the fight left to see XD But, still! Better than we had been doing for the past month, that's for sure.

When I finished my roulettes tonight, my AST was 3.8mil exp from hitting lv80. My Nin is also 71 now, meaning Dnc an start doing the Pixie dailies.

Gnb to 70 and crafters + gatherers up is my next goal. Then I will go from there as to what I'm doing with leveling things.

Also I'm doing solo Garuda runs for my warlion while I'm waiting for my Morbol group to login XD 40/200. And I'm at like 88/200 for my warbear. I already have both DRK mounts. I'm at like 60/200/300 for the GNB mounts. And for armored lion and bear I'm at like 55/300 for both. >_>

I started leveling my crafters. In making and turning in HQ items for three charity leves, I got my carpenter from 71 to 74. I have unlocked the facets, but not done them yet. In any event, I am going to need materials to keep moving forward. I can knock these classes out fairly quickly, me thinks, if I just had those, preferably HQ to save on time or effort.

Also my Btn is 71 and Min about halfway there from 70. Fsh is... lol I'll get on that eventually.

Gnb went into Leveling today, and I had Copperbell normal mode, so that job is about halfway to 62. Dnc is also 71 now, so I am going to have to decide between that, Drg, or Rdm for doing Pixie dailies and Alliance Raids until Gnb is 70; then I'll get Gnb to 71 and call it good on the Pixies until I need something else from them in 5.5 or whenever. haha

I decided to give the Firmament crafting a try, starting with Cul. As a result, Cul is level 80. I have a bunch of beetle glue on Lyra, but it's normal quality, so I need to make a ton of HQ for Armorer's sake. Good thing I have a couple hundred venture tokens to work with.

It really is stupid fast. Macro craft, with decent gear, about 42 of the right item, and that's 71 to 80 knocked out; plus skybuilder scrips per DoH. So now I need mats for that, which shouldn't be too long.

The current status of cutscenes for those MSQ dungeons is why I mostly avoid Mentor Roulette. I run the risk of getting those, an Ex primal during which a couple people want carries and a few more never really learned the fight in the first place. Or I get a guildhest.

I made a little table on my computer's Notepad to figure out what I need if I assume 42 turn-ins per crafter (sans Culinarian since it's done already). 1008 skybuilders' molybdenum, 756 of a couple other mats, 504 of a few, and 252 of just one of the skybuilder ones.

That's not counting things like beetle glue, oroshigane ingots, tiger leather... most of those things I can easily make HQ to give myself a small lead-in for those crafts. The Alchemist one needs two Bear Fat per synth, which I have no control over the quality for.

With this, though, I'm positive I will hit 80 on all crafters once I have the time to make it all.

I do still have my dailies afterall; Expert for weekly tomes, Leveling on Gnb, Alliance on Rdm, Pixie quests on Rdm. Also: sleep and work schedule. x_x

So, progress report time:

My crafters are all 80 and need new gear, as well as three of the Masterbook VIIs (Gsm, Wvr, Alc). I did so much crafting while watching the entirety of Netflix's Watcher series. Most of the Facet turn-ins still need to be done, and I still need 3300 more Skybuilder Scrips to get the gorilla mount.

My Min and Btn are both 75, and Fsh is still 70 where I left it in 4.3 after doing my last go at big fishing. I plan to work on these slowly, but surely, while I level the next two combat jobs to 80; maybe three depending on the time it takes. I'll have to be sure to finish these facets as well.

Gnb is 63, and I intend to run it through dungeons in earnest soon. I may or may not have to stay on top of the leftside gear and weapon until 70 so it'll be relatively painless to do those trash pulls and bosses.

Rdm is 75 plus three fifths of a level bar. Pixie dailies are a great supplement going forward, but I will soon make some level 76 gear so I can FATE grind to 80. I intend to max my Il Mheg rank with this job, followed by Amh Araeng. We'll see how Tempest FATEs treat me when I get up there with that same set of gear. I have a mix of Goetia and Warg gear waiting for my Rdm already as well, though I will need to get a new weapon when it is time (I'd rather not waste the space). Then I will finally do the Caster Role Quests, followed by the final quest that ties all those together.

• Once these role quests and facets are done, the only non-repeatable quests I'll have remaining are the level 80 job quests I haven't already done.

Once Gnb and Rdm are 80, I will FATE grind and Pixie quest my Drg next, and do the Trust leveling with Sam and Mnk. Those dungeon drops will be a solid help, me thinks. Pld and Drk will also be running those dungeons since the Trust NPCs only have one tank among them, but two healers and three DPS.

I am thinking Nin and Dnc after those are done, followed by Blm, and then that should leave Mch. I still want to line that one up with getting the last ShB area to rank 3. I doubt I will hit the 10k FATE achievement as well, but a girl can dream big.

Also, I'm still hovering around the same amount of gil now as I had when I last logged in in June. lol...

Yep. Crafting has a similar deal with Namazu crafts and the custom deliveries where the level ranges fall into the prior expansion from time to time, so you can pop achievements for those lower level ranges while doing them. It's a bit on the silly side.
