Hello everyone, and welcome to the project where we rank all the CBX characters by contest strength! This time, well be ranking the High Fodder, comprised of the following characters:

Chris Redfield, Claire Redfield, Commander Shepard, Dragonborn, Ellie, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Garrus Vakarian, Geno, King K. Rool, Lloyd Irving, Metal Sonic, Miles Edgeworth, Ramza Beoulve, Ren Amamiya/Joker, Richter Belmont, Riku, Shovel Knight, Shulk, and Velvet Crowe

Before we get going, heres the Rules, as always:

1. If at all possible, please number your rankings (ex. 1 for the strongest character, etc.) - it makes your ranks much clearer, allowing me to tabulate them much easier.
2. Rankings of indirect strength are preferred, but direct rankings will be allowed, especially in tandem with indirect rankings.
3. Stick to one ranking per tier (or one ranking each of indirect and direct strength if you choose to separate them) - dont try to sway the standings with multiple accounts.
4. Youre always welcome to submit retroactive rankings if you missed one or more days, as well as change your existing rankings if so inclined, up until this project ends.
5. And most importantly, be nice to each other, even people you dont like! Discussion is welcomed and encouraged, but this isnt ultimately meant to be an overly serious project, so I dont want to see any knock-down, drag-out arguments developing in here about how someones not ranking by the stats or whatever else - use your discretion about this.

Something really weird happened with Riku this year. That performance was entirely out of character for him.

As for Joker, he was weak this year, and the ill-timed Smash announcement will likely have no effect on next contest 3-5 years from now.

Edgeworth is really weak. Really weak. Probably should be in the next tier down tbqh.

People thought this was a good performance by Zard when we figured he was probably a near-elite even without his bandwagon/release day factor, but with Zard's true colors having since been revealed, this now looks really embarrassing for Riku and kinda foreshadowed his total bomb this contest.

And even with the possibility of a Zard drop since 2013, we've still seen Duke Nukem outperform that in 2010.

Sure, but I've got no suggestions.

I like this idea, but doing a comprehensive list of every character that's ever graced our contest would require us to do an additional 300 characters to what we've already done, including an awful lot of super duper crap tier one-and-dones and very few near-elites/high midcarders. But here's a place we can start - this is a list which I believe is complete of characters with at least three contest appearances that missed the boat this time. I included where I believe they should go but it's tough because with how infrequently we've been having contests lately some of them have been MIA for over a decade.

For reference, I've included the last time each character appeared in a regular character battle (so, no Rivalry Rumble) if they missed 2013 (if there is no year then their last appearance was 2013).

I was never going to do any sort of comprehensive list, because that's against the spirit of my tier-focused approach to this project (which I should have clarified, whoops). I was planning on lists of 30 each of returners and newcomers, selected to prioritize strength.

Also, I thought about putting Edgeworth in the next tier down, but didn't based on some preceding topics among other things.
