After BFV, I'm not surprised that EA is pushing their agenda onto the rest of the Devs they own. Very sad to see. It's likely that Titanfall 3 is going to be shit, Titanfall 2 was very good, in both single and multiplayer.

Do people who say this shit even know a god damn thing about Bioware?

Games BioWare put out after being fully integrated with EA: ME3, ME Andromeda, DA Inquisition

They had politics, leading female characters and gay relationships in their games long before EA bought them.

They did, and there was nothing wrong with it.

It's when they cheaply ham-fist it into games and make it so obviously interjected that it's less "progressive" and more "virtue signalling" that it becomes a problem and ruins the narrative flow of the game.

I say this as someone who is literally in a LGBT relationship right now.

Only one NPC had that problem.

I'd say one of Andromeda flaws is that it wasn't challenging enough. It was a very safe, simple black and white game.

Incorrect. Steve Cortez was very natural. If he had a wife, nobody would have batted an eye.

Kaiden was a gay relationship, not the gay relationship. One so-and-so portrayal doesn't cancel out the rest of the good ones. Kaidan romance also played out the same way as Femshep anyway so you can say "the straight relationship was absolutely embarrassing" and it would make just as much sense.

There are some unfortunate development woes that do explain why both Dragon Age Inquisition and Mass Effect Andromeda had issues.

Both of them had to deal with using Frostbite which just wasn't designed for RPG's at the time. They basically had to design most of the shit from the ground up. This is why Dragon Age Inquisition had weirdly designed cities and a lot of open spaces for example. They were working with the strengths of that engine.

There was a lot of really cool stuff they had in mind for the game. If you watch the early gameplay videos there's a lot of moral choices you could make that would shape what happens within specific areas. But they were told by EA that the game needed to be crossgen. A lot of it had to be cut out and changed to that board thing instead. The game was hobbled as a result.

Mass Effect Andromeda at one point was an extremely ambitious game. It was originally supposed to be like No Man's Sky. With hundreds of planets. But it just wasn't working out. They spent a lot of their time constantly scaling back what they wanted to do. Development was just a constant issue that they never recovered from. It was a fresh team who wanted to prove that they could do something different and it didn't work out.

Or Dorian from Bioware's games.

Kaiden being a shitty romance is just his character being meh in general really, I think. Discounting the D team working on Andromeda, Bioware have generally done pretty well with their romances (subject to taste, of course)

True. I feel like we were robbed in Inquisition by having Cullen only as an advisor. He would've been a great party member by that point considering everything he's been through.
