The bigger issue with this game is its exposing how to get to Newton and its going to hurt them going forward. They wont get the division, Saints are too good. So this hurts their wild card hunt a lot

Well, Ben slid at the last possible moment. Penalty, fine. Begrudgingly, okay. But ejecting him? That's absolutely outrageous.

The one leading with the head hit on Cam uncalled.

That TD that should have absolutely been overturned but it wasn't reviewed for "pacing" or whatever bullshit excuse they used.

Totally awful.

I dont think Reid should have gotten ejected for that hit. He started his dive at about the same time Ben did. I dont think he was head hunting. I think the post flag issue blew it up. Which honestly they should have gotten a penalty for going back at him too I think but eh. Game was such a blowout didnt matter

Yeah that TD where he used the goalpost to handle the catch being a touchdown was pretty obscene. And the review was so fast for something that questionable.

He very clearly could have not hit him in the head there. It looked like he purposely lead in with his shoulder to make contact. You know the QB is going to slide, why even lean in like that in the first place? Seemed 100% avoidable and I'm fine with the ejection.

I would say the fact that Ben looked like he had no intention of sliding was why he lead with the shoulder. I think a lot of the QBs are getting more daring with stuff like that because they know how easy it is for the hitter to get called on it now. It feels like baiting sometimes. But if you don't want to get hit like that, slide earlier. A guy shouldn't be punished for trying to make the play on a guy like he would anyone else running with the ball who showed no intention of sliding.

I'm pretty sure a torn Achilles (which is what the injury is speculated to be) is the sort of freak accident that you can't really prepare for or prevent with proper conditioning.

I'm sure Dez got paid though (even if it might have been a prorated vet's min). Then again, if he unrealistically thought he was going to turn in half a season's work into a huge payday as a 30-something WR, then maybe from his perspective he should have sat this season out.

There is exactly one pick 'em game of any relevance this week and it's Washington/Tampa.

After Washington's team-wide no show last week I'm leaning Tampa, but I feel like I run into this game every year where I pick Tampa at home in a game like this and they get destroyed from the start.
