Actually....could you transplant a womb? What about just the lower half of a body all together? They have done it with arms etc now right, so what if you transplanted the entire lower half of a person?

That is some sci-fi stuff right there. I think it would be better/easier to just download the electrical impusles etc that store a persons memories/personality and transport them over, replace them, seems easier.

The spine is a really finicky thing that can easily be permanently damaged / destroyed. I don't think we have the technology to fully heal it if it were cut off like that.

There are three sexes, not two. Male, female and intersex. Intersex is "several variations in sex characteristics including chromosomes, gonads, sex hormones, or genitals that don't meet the typical definition for male or female bodies."

That is likely the catalyst for where the branching off of more than two genders came from. What gender is someone who has both a vagina and a penis? There have been a few successful uterus transplants, though off-hand I don't know if they ended up being fully viable, and they were just into females. To transplant it into a male, you'd need to bring in the ovaries as well and remove the testicles, since otherwise you simply wouldn't have the right hormones for it to work. Some hormone replacement therapy beforehand would probably also be needed.

Synonyms simply have similar meanings. They don't have to be identical in meaning, nor are they always freely interchangeable. You don't even have to look at other examples to demonstrate that; "sex" has many applications where "gender" simply would not be appropriate. You don't talk about people having gender, after all. Historically, yes, "gender" has been primarily used as a substitute for "sex" in contexts where it would be considered impolite to say "sex." Not really. There's a fairly broad range of conditions that can result in some degree of hermaphroditism, even without considering the psychological aspects. There are several different elements involved in physical sexual dimorphism, and while they're normally linked, it's not at all unheard of to have one or more of them not match the others. Generally, most people are going to fall neatly into being male or female, but that's not a reason to discount the feelings and experiences of those who don't.

Sure I do: Gender is a synonym. The gender of an electrical or plumbling hook up is male or female. That's how it works. There's nothing to understand other than what some quack doctor made up. Look, I have close friends that are transgender, 3 actually, like post-op transgender, but that's still between two genders. It's not called "transsex" it's called "transgender." There is no operation to become an airplane. The operation is to go from male to female or female to male. It's not called "sex wage gap" it's called "gender wage gap". Because there are two genders and one is possibly making more money than the other for the same work. No one is studying if ... some imaginary 8th gender is making more money, it's either the male or female gender making more money.

I don't know why people think their imagination and feelings somehow impact reality. There's nothing wrong with feminine males or masculine females (which I guess is where you distinguish gender from sex, even though biological science does not) but they are still male or female. There is no 3rd gender. I like want to scream, this is MATH!!!!!!! A light switch is either on or off. You are either the sperm or egg. You are either male or female. You are either in or out. You don't have to think 1+1=2 in a 10 base decimal system, but it is and doesn't give a shit if you think it is or not. If a 90 year old man dying in his bed identifies as a young person alive, will that save him from his death? That's not how the real world works.

I want you to explain to me what you think gender is. You're saying some person could wake up, make up a 847th gender, and identify as that for a day/week/year? Make up is a really important concept here. I think these people are literally crazy, or using made-up genders as a coping mechanism to regain power over their lives because of the awful way some people treat the LBGT community, or to return a perceived power and control over their life that a sexual abuser in the past has taken away from them.
