Oh well, I already had 1.5/2.5 on PS3 and I'm already 2/3 through BBS so I wasn't planning on upgrading so no big deal.

Good for those that still need to get caught up though! They really should drop this on Xbox since KH3 is dropping there and even those who played KH1/2 years ago are gonna be really confused.

Microsoft should work something to get this to XBOX One, considering they'll get KH3. But no person who's owned an XBOX all this time would get that, because they'd have no clue what's going on.

And I think a minority of people played KH I and II on PS2 and now have only an XBOX One.

This collection is Squeenix's big chance to bring KH to the PC! Going off of trends I'm guessing they'll do it to hype up a KH3 PC release, which'll probably be somewhere towards early 2020. X_X

Pretty much. Theres been some story stuff in the phone game since 2.8 that may or may not end up being relevant at all, but its got everything else.

It always really irked me that they put the 358/2 cutscenes on 1.5. That is absolutely not the order to experience that stuff in. I know they did it for logistical reasons, but still. Awful.

Also they cut out the final boss cuz it was in-engine rather than cutscene. You're left with a weird gap in there where you don't know what the heck just happened

Every time this is brought up I will always say, NOPE.

The story is much better experiencing Days first. Yes, the way KH2 is written you'll get some "spoilers" but the real emotional resonance is much higher if you know Roxas full story ahead of time.

He's just a nobody (intended) in KH2.

Going straight to KH2 from 1 is what god intended. You're right in Sora's shoes, not knowing/caring what happened between the end of 1 and now and you are just as confused as he is.

so what is one to do if they already own it on the ps3 and have no intentions of buying it on DS?

It was mentioned above but they actually patched in a scene for the final boss, weird as that is. So watching the movie is a perfectly fine alternative to the game. Honestly maybe even better, the game's not that good!

I'd say folks new to the series should wait to watch it until after playing KH2, which I think is Deeps bigger gripe.

yeah 358/2 Days' gameplay is kinda bad and very repetitive so as much as I love Roxas I'm fine with them just boiling that down to cutscenes because that's the real draw of that game anyway

This collection also makes me realise what an idiot I was for ever purchasing a PS3 late in its lifecycle. I could've bought a PS4, paid 100 - 200 bucks more but I would've been able to purchase every worthwile PS3 game anyway because they've all been remastered.

While the number of re-releases is downright silly at this point, this one makes a lot of sense as a bundle and as a deal.

Which is what this is as far as I can tell, a bundle, not a re-release. They're just packing the re-releases into one bundle that covers everything for people who either haven't played/want to refresh themselves in preparation of KH3.

Theyve said its the two discs from I.5/II.5 and II.8 in one box, thats it.

If KHIII plays as well as the demo, then us fans are in for a treat. The toy story level was wild to play!

Already have both collections so I'm covered, my main hope is that PS5 whenever it comes out, has backwards compatibility with the PS4.
