Fall Anime Write-ups Finale aka the rest of the shit

Hora, Mimi ga Mieteru yo! - story about a guy and his cat-boy roommate lmao pass

Inazuma Eleven: Orion no Kokuin - never watched any of these, but this is like the Cardfight of sports series. There will be a few dozen more of these as the years go on.

Bakutsuri Bar Hunter - this kid fishes for souls using the barcode spirit from his bag of potato chips XFD. Sounds sorta like a Yokai Watch ripoff.

Ken En Ken: Aoki Kagayaki - DEEN adaptation of some RPG Ive never heard of. Display art doesnt even show the characters and theres no real description.

Kira Kira Happy Hirake! Cocotama - lmao

Welp thats it guys. Some stellar shows, some mediocrity, some potential surprise hits and a fair amount of trash nobody will watch other than Chrono1219

It is kinda funny. The cost of one summon being almost the price of an actual AAA game is reason enough for me to never consider it even IF I had the money. Im never paying for RNG. Might as well give a cashier at a game store $60 and tell him to dice roll to see if you can actually walk home with the game imo. Youd still have about 10,000% better odds of succeeding in that scenario than your average gacha too lol

Yeah, but he watches literally everything on the charts sometimes for 4+ weeks. I dunno how he has the time to watch so much anime

I saw Calamity of the Zombie Girl, which was the pinnacle of 2018 anime movies. Any other movie would seem second-rate compared to this!

Okay seriously though, there probably are some good ones. I never pay attention to movies since they aren't typically streamed anywhere and I'm lazy, but I should try to look into a few at some point.

I finished Harukana Receive, and I thought it was good! They portrayed beach volleyball in a way that made it exciting to follow along with, especially all the special moves and intricacies of the sport, and all of the characters were a whole lot of fun (Haruka and Claire were the best). There were some great comedy bits, but they never detracted from the characterization or plot. It was also especially enjoyable compared to the... other sports anime from this season. In Harukana Receive, the characters were able to enjoy playing the sport together instead of hating each other and everything about it. It didn't reach the fun heights of something like Scorching Ping Pong Girls, but it was still great and the ending left me both satisfied and hoping for another season. On my dumb ranking scale, it was a solid 7/10.

I sound like a broken record at this point, but mah dude, give Girls Frontline a shot. Characters and all that are pulled exclusively through in game resources. Paid stuff is all cosmetic, so you don't lose out or miss anything by not spending any money.

Made in Abyss dub starts on HiDive on 10/23. Good excuse to rewatch, plus I wanna see how good their original dubs are gonna be.

Their Tada-kun dub starts on 9/30 of course, but....yeah...

It sure is funny that HiDive is using Sentai for their new dubs, gets most of its catalogue titles from Sentai, and is based in the same city as Sentai. That sure is a bunch of strange coincidences for two companies that have no connections whatsoever.

Like I don't get what was bad about those thirty seconds in the first place but nowhere did I imply that was the first time we'd heard it.

Was just annoyed they existed. Felt like a waste of time, and the sort of thing that the show didn't usually do.

Anyways, finished two (2) shows today! The second was, obviously, Harukana Receive. More like Harukana R'eh'ceive, mirite? Show was okay but not anything special at all. Most of the time, it felt more like a cute girl SoL show than a sports show, though one episode (11) was actually good at the sports part, so that was nice. Probably the best aspect of the show was how everyone's always having fun and happy. Haruka's reaction after that one tournament where they lost early on was good stuff. Probably part of why I didn't like that last ep as much; every character was way too depressed. The main problem with the show was that the cast wasn't that great. Haruka's the only one I really enjoyed. The others either don't get much development or aren't very interesting (the American twins were totally blah). And again, the sports parts weren't incredible. The fanservice was mostly unobtrusive in its ever-present nature, but the parts that did focus on it were lame (like the 'incredible' swimsuit shopping sequence). Pretty meh show overall.

The first show was Chio's School Road. This was better, but still not the best. It suffers from that problem shared by a lot of anime comedies: the pace is too slow. Some episodes did three stories per episode, but most did two, which was not enough. Asobi Asobase does 4 in most episodes, which works out much better for it. Chio was pretty funny sometimes, and it has the advantage of Chio being awesome/super-likable. Gamer protagonists always good times, and I love the way she nerds out. The show wasn't incredibly funny in general though. I thought about switching to the manga, and probably should've, but oh well.

I legitimately don't remember anything from winter except Antarctica at this point so I'm gonna just assume it was literally all fucking garbage and say off-the-top-of-my-head S;G0, Antarctica, Hinamatsuri and/or Banana Fish in some order.

S;G probably first 9.5 times out of 10.

3. Hinamatsuri?

Devilman is 10, other two are 9s. Titan S3 will likely take #1 when I watch it. Heaven's Feel would be #1 or #2 if you count movies.
