Oh yeah, the "A skill BST" doesn't sit well with me either. It's just another reason I'm less and less interested in arena these days.

Yeah I am pissed off about those Duel skills too. Might be the first time I actually send feedback. At least it lets me save orbs because I can say I'm boycotting this banner.

That's a good idea. I actually sent them feedback detailing my issues with the arena scoring system and those skills, and finished with that I wouldn't be spending on this game again until those skills are changed and/or the arena scoring system is changed

I mean I'm not a whale for this game but I'm a dolphin of sorts. I always get the monthly deal and have bought small orb packs a few times, so people like me not spending could matter.

the thing is i don't even think those duel skills were intended as a "fix" to anything except the fact that some F2Ps slipped into tier 21. they want people to pay to get into tier 21 and they're using these duel skills to make it more competitive.

Well a hard paywall to get into tier 21 is objectionable too so yeah either way.

Like I'm relatively fine with really difficult content that you practically need to pay to get through. But just making it a matter of "you literally can't do this without this skill or merged armor units because you literally can't fight high enough point value opponents" is a big fuck off for me. I was willing to accept the fact that armor units were necessary previously as a glitch of a poorly thought out system. Making a skill to remove the issue of mandatory armors rather than fixing the system is garbage though.

got a circle of 5 reds on my initial summon. i can't remember the last time that's happened to me; might have even been the first. i opened them all and got Laevatein, +atk -HP. i wanted Laegjarn more but i'll take it.

Silvia dropped to 4* so i guess it was the valor skill that kept Lene at 5*? that's so weird though, valor skills aren't that useful anymore. i guess Lene also has a bit better stat spread and most people seem to think she has much better art so maybe those things also factor in.

I'm glad I gambled on Silvia getting demoted so I could focus on pulling Special Spi- I mean, Lewyn from the Genealogy banner then getting out.

Lene's artwork must play a role in it. They should both be in four star pool - they aren't much different from Olivia. I can't imagine someone pulling for a valor skill.

Took 150 orbs to get Laegjarn with +Atk -Def. I can definitely work with that. I might give her that free speed defense bond with renewal. I have zero Shannas for desperation.

I also picked up a +hp -res Lucina and +Spd -atk Laevatein along the way. Laevatein still packs a punch but I'm less into her

I got Laegjarn (-Spd/+Res) on the opening summon, spending 8 orbs to grab her off one of the 3 green/red orbs. It's almost like the game is saying "no don't leave, just use these A skills!" by giving me a terrible version of her that begs to be skill inherited.

Aside I don't like how they basically made her reverse-Maria with her obsession with her sister. There was potential for the character to actually be interesting and instead they just made her a one-note thing, with said one-note not being very good. Oh well.

Well. That was an interesting 200 orbs summoning session on the Muspell Banner. Got:

Ayra (+HP -Res)
Sonya (+Def -Atk)
Leo (+HP -Def)
Flying Nino (+Res -Atk)
Helbindi (+HP -Spd)
Laevatein (+HP -Def)
Myrrh (+Atk - Res)
Gray (+Spd -HP)

All new except for Myrrh, who quickly ate my previous -Def Myrrh. Some unfortunate banes on a few of them, but that's still awesome. Think this makes up for the 300 orbs I spent on the CYL2 banner where I only got Veronica. Some highlights:

eh, it's only really a hindrance in AA. in regular arena you want to feed kills to the bonus unit anyway.

For whatever reason, Intelligent Systems counts Adult Tiki and Young Tiki and different characters. So they see it as 2 Adult Tiki and 3 Young Tiki, not 5 Tiki.

Gonna look at Reddit and the like/dislike ratio on the new video to see if they're consistent with their "We hate alts!" mentality. They disliked bombed Lyn and Lucina, Tiki should get the same treatment.

In CYL2, if you combine the votes of different versions of the same characters, Anna is the 3rd most popular character who is in the game but doesn't have an alt. She is behind Alm and Leif. Arguable behind Morgan as well depending on how you count them. If you keep votes split up, Anna is 21st. Anna LFF is the real deal.

For a long time I feel like this actually isn't how they meant it, because it took so long to get the first irredeemably evil (non-comic relief) character (Valter, IIRC).

yeah i like Jaffar but he got bad art and his stat spread isn't far off from Odin. i guess with the refine he could be an interesting unit to play around with.

I've never been big on Jaffar as a character (he's okay, not one of my favorites or anything) I just think his PRF is interesting and unique enough to warrant looking into.

Also he's a far cry from Odin. Odin wastes a ton of points on SPD is his main problem, since his attack stat is garbage. Jaffar's speed is a hair higher which is important in a stat that deals in all or nothing like that, and also his attack isn't garbage, just middling. It's not great but, it's 4 higher than Odin's and has a superboon if you wanna go that way.

+1 spd
= def
-3 res

i don't see how you could say that's a far cry from Odin. that's about the closest anyone is to Odin's stat spread other than Ninian, who's a dancer.

I had a -Atk Jaffar early on in the game(Before I knew Ivs were in this game). It was painful to see the amount of kills he couldn't secure.

+4 atk and +1 spd are pretty important. It's about function of the stats as much as the actual total. Atk synergizes with (attempted) high speed, and speed has a certain area of dead zone where it's a kind of a wasted stat, 35 being on the high end of that-- I'd say 30-35 is really questionable. 36 is still lower than you'd like but I'd say 37 you're getting into the point where the stat is serviceable.
