also i think i forgot to mention in the other topic but i free summoned Micaiah from the BHB banner, which was cool. +HP -def. again, i'll definitely take that over any of the focus units in that batch of 15.

Well I wasted 4 pulls worth of orbs after hitting eph on the sole green on the set, but Robin and him after 60 orbs is p good

what the heck i just free summoned Ephraim out of a circle of mostly greens. two banners in a row, and this is my first free 5* that's a new focus unit. plus i got another Marth for 4 orbs to complete him at +10.

oh and Ephraim is +atk -HP so yeah that's pretty cool

This was my reaction when I got pity broke by him just now(Neutral stats too).

So with 200ish orbs..

Pitybroke by a -Spd/+Hp Hinoka
Got CYL Celica in that same batch anyway (+Spd/-Hp)

Eventually found Veronica (+Spd/-Res)

and then the aforementioned Grima. I'll stop at 20 for now.

I'm wondering if attack bane is better for Ephraim. 54 attack and 34 def versus 57 attack and 37 def. Attack bane sucks, but 54 attack with a skill that boosts charge might be just fine.

I only had 59 Orbs to play with and still got Ephraim, Hector and random vanilla Takumi back-to-back-to-back in there. Every single one of them is +Res -HP somehow. Didn't want the +Res, but -HP is probably best for Ephraim and second to -Spd for Hector.

I'm a little underwhelmed by these units tbh. Yeah, Hector and Ephraim seem kinda broken but IS making broken armor units is old news at this point. Veronica is kind of interesting but I wish she had been a flier instead. And Celica...............

Oh well, at least the legendary banner next week should be good.

Would've much rather gotten plenty of extra Hectors fodder for the new ballin' DC, but alas, the game chose to reserve all my fodder and luck with usable IVs exclusively for Brave Ephraim. Still not sure who to use the neutral freebie on. Bector having -Atk is pretty bad but he's still usable, and Veronica has a completely wasted Boon and a crippling Bane. But while she has good skills, she's nowhere near as good of fodder as Hector so I can't use the crap IV copy nearly as well. ....I also still kinda do want a Celica, since while I have a LOT of Red Swords, very few are actually that great besides my Ayra and Ikes, and I could definitely use a second Ayra-like threat.

I agree this CYL is kind of disappointing. Having two armors is boring, even if I really like the characters, and I was really hoping they would get creative with Hector. I would have liked a red archer Celica or magical girl Celica as I dig that FE:A artwork. I'll go for Hector and see where that takes me. I'll probably free pull Veronica unless I get lucky with colorless

Death Blow 4 really should have been a Celica exclusive. After all this time chipping away at horses, it's time to make Reinhardt great again.

Who is everyone taking with the free pull? I want a better Ephraim, but I'll probably take Veronica to complete the set

I was also going to comment on how last year's winners all gave a unique niche for their role, which is what made it more exciting. We really didn't need two armors taking up the spots this year

Banned from ranged units is a good enough restriction to me. Part of me wants the restriction to freely merge my dupe

I don't think DB4 is that big a deal honestly. There's been much worse examples of powercreep and the difference between living/dead from a Reinhardt is rarely 4 damage.

I'm still going to sacrifice Celica to Donnel, but yeah.

It's only rarely 4 damage if you're running a specialized Rein counter

If you're just using a high res non-red unit (or middling green unit) it's often 4 damage.

10 more orbs got me -HP +Def Hector

Pretty cool. Not a great combo but not a bad one either. Def is a superboon so I'd put this as slightly better than neutral particularly considering he's likely going to be doubled a lot.

Think I'll hold off on drawing more from this banner for now.

Got +Atk/-Spd Hector with 82 orbs. The perfect Reindaddy and Nowi still elude me.....

Going to hold for LH banner. Will probably go back for Elincia if I don't spend too much on it. A bit tempted to pull for Veronica as DB4 fodder, though

Used all the orbs from the paralogue on the Hoshidan summer banner because I was at a 5.25% pity percent and I didn't want it to go to waste. I really wanted Elincia, but I don't think I had a single green stone in the last 5 or so summoning sessions that I did on that banner, so I ended up getting Micaiah instead. -ATT, obviously, but whatever I'll take it.

Definitely going to wait until the CYL banner ends to choose my hero. My dumb ass learned my lesson from last year haha.

It's really frustrating that healers are prohibited from using a vast array of good A skills... and then they go and make the healer-unique skills B skills. If Live to Serve/Wrathful/Dazzling were all A I'd probably be much more forgiving.

Sharena is good for lance, Anna is good for axe, and Veronica is good for pure magic.

I don't understand the rationale behind the Forging Bonds change. By frontloading the rewards, aren't they encouraging people to tune out of the event even sooner? They didn't even change the rewards or stamina requirement

Forging Bonds is a trash mode so making the rewards easier to get is an improvement

i think they're doing it so you can miss a day here and there and still get all the orbs. that's how everything else is. good change, but it needed more than that.

It can be pretty useful in endurance modes like chain challenges. I don't usually carry a healer, and it isn't hard to position well enough that Tharja can do the job considering she's killing nearly everything anyway. I pair her with Eirika and Fae who use Fury so the makeshift heals are nice.

I could use drive speed or attack instead I guess, but I haven't really felt like I'm lacking support with buffbot Eirika

Too bad I don't have a blue mage to complete the set. Blue characters with merge potential are pretty lacking in general.
