I've turned about 150 characters into manuals. It feels nice to never need to expand the barracks again.

Yeah you can even send manuals home so the only ones you should keep are ones you have built or may build. I manualed everyone who didn't have an optimal nature (kept a couple for a few units I may build and haven't decided on nature for, and one copy of each unit) and have over 200 open spaces in the barracks now.

played this round of the VG pretty much perfectly. top 1k without spending all my flags (granted, only 200 left, but at 779th i don't think i could have spent any less) and gonna get the win during same hell.

looks like there's a good chance Lyn steals the win from Veronica, so it could end up being a lot of same next round. though i kept thinking it was coming this round in Ephraim vs Ike and it never did until now, so maybe not. and of course there's still a good chance Lyn overshoots and gives Veronica the last hour bonus to win. i think i'd call Veronica a slight favorite now.

I don't see how Lyn beats Veronica. Lyn only trails by 1.2 billion and got 2.5 billion during the previous bonus hour. Lyn is definitely going to trigger a 7.5x hammer from Veronica during the final hour.

oh, the spreadsheet said she was behind by 1.7 billion after gaining 1.8 billion in an hour, which would basically be the perfect scenario to win. i guess somehow it still hadn't updated yet 15 minutes past the hour and that was only a projection?

Though with the bonuses, both sides should have improved their global ranking by a decent amount.

A little too early for a Halloween banner, so not sure why were getting two so close to each other

Late, but 130ish orbs brought me:

+HP/-Res Quan
+HP/-Res Lewyn
+Res/-HP Grima

Weird that all of the boons and banes are on HP and Res, but thankfully, none of them are too debilitating. I got what I wanted and more, so Im happy. Been having good luck with accidentally getting multiple focus units, and finally getting Grima is awesome

Was pulling Green/Red (bailed on blue since I got Hector earlier) while continuing to pull on brave banner. Got Ephraim -Spd +Res at 3.5%

One of the best natures to get so I'm happy with this. Will marginally help my Vote Gauntlet score too.

Yeah I was pretty meh at getting a +Res/-HP Ephraim until I realized the Res was a super boon, and that this exact nature is actually perfect for getting optimal arena scores.

I mostly am just excited for having another Nowi killer, which a 30 Res base axe using Ephraim will be exceedingly effective at.

I succeeded in pulling a Lewyn earlier. Thankfully he was -Atk so I had no remorse whatsoever in feeding him to Lilina and making her even more grotesque.

Oh I also got Lute on that banner from clearing the rest of the orbs from that set, which is cool because I'd been wanting one. -HP/+RES which is not a terrible set. She has a lot put into having high res so I'll take it.

I'm surprised she got that many supporters to be honest.

Me personally, I voted for her the same reason I voted for Gunnthra. I wanted to see more from her. She had a few interesting tidbits, and I think if IS actually expanded on it then people would find her more likable. They started to do that in book 2, before they essentially removed her from the story where she may or may not be dead.

She's an incredibly powerful new unit. This gauntlet showed that people put a lot of stock in that, which is why the CYL2 units all did better than the CYL1 ones (Ike > Hector was an upset going by the size of their VG teams) except for Celica/Lyn because Lyn is the strongest CYL1 unit by far.

It's interesting because the early gauntlets were obviously much more about the character's innate popularity (we got pre-refine Camilla smoking a gauntlet, which obviously isn't based on her power) but it's definitely transitioned more to "how many people like/use this unit in FEH" over the months I feel.

I started playing this recently and didn't pay too much attention to the gauntlet. Cumulative rank: 100,001. It does display ranks past that right? Haha.

But yeah, I've only just finished the normal story mode, so I'm mostly just muddling along right now.

DA WAIFUS is a ridiculous excuse. Some people like male units more and some people like female units more, CYL results suggest they balance pretty well among the FEH fanbase. Veronica isn't generally hyped for being astonishingly pretty or anything.

Even if you think Ephraim is a better unit than Veronica (he is for some purposes), I would argue that Veronica is more useful to more players - she fills a niche which is much harder to fill. Additionally, as far as the CYL2 free unit choice goes, he and Hector LFFed each other - people who like armours had two choices, people who prefer mobile units only had one choice.

this and also Veronica is the only actually new character. this is the fourth Hector, the third Ephraim, the third Celica, but only the first playable Veronica.

I don't know if I've ever seen a FE fan who *strictly* likes male units over female units, while I've seen quite a few people who are the opposite.

unless by "strictly" you mean like, "refuses to use female units," in which case yeah i've never seen that. but the other side of that coin is extremely rare.

There's a bunch of factors that I feel makes attributing it all to one reason a mistake. Like, the reason Veronica won CYL 2 at all wasn't just one reason. She scored high enough that it's reasonable that people like her for her character/overall design.... but also they saw that she was close to Camilla and fuck Camilla getting another alt so soon(She would, to the surprise of none, get a summer alt anyway).

As for Gunnthra, yeah she's visually stunning. No she's not my "waifu", but she is undeniably very pretty. She also happens to be fun to use since she's a debuffer and a reverse Bladetome all in one. Something we've never seen before. That 15 minutes of screentime actually ticked me off because IS went through all this trouble getting our hopes up to finally meet her... only to kill her off moments after we finally meet her in not a dream, all for what? To convince us a character we already knew was evil, was more evil?

Though I will admit I'm biased and will totally attribute that argument for Loki since I only view her as a fanservice plot device who trolls around in non(?)canon at best, and actively decreases the merit of the story at worst. (At least until it's revealed she's working for/is a evil dragon/god.)

Remember how Veronica gave us a hell of time in the first Tempest Trial? Suddenly the impact of that is weakened if that was just Loki dicking around.

Ike also has a 60-40 over Camilla if you want to go further back. Also my point was more Veronica isn't as strong as she is just because she is female. That fact alone is insufficient to start hitting 83% on Lucina, 70% on Bow Lyn and 76% on Ephraim. I mean Ephraim technically did better than Lucina there as well.

Loki's the only vaguely entertaining original character in this game. I guess Laegjarn could potentially be interesting but yeah everyone else is super one dimensional (including Loki but her one dimension is at least kinda funny at times)

I actually like Gunnthra a bit but she's all design (which is better than Loki's) and gameplay.

Like having that Quick Riposte Flora has, at 4*, would be awesome.

Another reposition user is like, neat, but not a sell.

How do you guys still need more reposition fodder though seriously. I have nearly enough for everyone I want to use it on, have been using it fairly liberally, and I'm actually merging my Selenas drawn at 4* too.

Like it's cool fodder but not exactly something I'd get excited for at this point.

true it's not very exciting the way QR3 at 4* would be. but it's better than Male Morgan (who i keep getting instead of Soleil ugh), and basically all the older demotions that got demoted a second time.
