Alright! I've managed to rank everyone's favorite anime openings and endings and have write ups and scores for all of them! I'll be doing bonus points and such after we go through the rankings and will be posting my own top 10 openings and endings as well along with the bonus points.

We have 27 Openings.

We have 23 Endings.

A couple people just sent an opening and Anagram decided to do just openings and not endings at all which is why the numbers don't add up.

That means the first 4 rankings will be the bottom 4 openings. After that the endings will join in and we'll be going from lowest to highest ranked.

Scoring will be out of 100.

This opening's score is more influenced by the video more than any of the other openings and endings on this list. The song isn't actually half bad, kind of generic but it wasn't bad to listen to in the slightest. The video though, dear god did that piss me off. The whole thing is just a generic anime girl just dancing around and then later we see a few other anime girls running around and then the camera spins around them wow! It's a shame because the animation quality is actually quite nice. You can tell I'm not a true anime fan because I'm sure there's a TON of huge fans of whatever this anime is because of all the waifus and beautiful girlies! This opening right here is everything I hate about animes rolled up into one. The opening does nothing but just show the few girls and half of it is just showing her legs or hands while she's dancing. Piss off.

If there was one word I had to give this opening it would just be. Boring. Just a kid and a girl sailing and then they are running. The song isn't exciting or interesting in any way or form and there's so little here to even discuss about it. The kid and the girl just permanently have happy faces. I'm not even joking here, literally EVERY single shot with them they have the exact same facial expression.

I enjoy a good Miyazaki as much as anyone else. This one just wasn't my thing.

The Totoro Theme is one of my all time favorite anythings as an aside.

oh yeah, anything from his films once he had Joe Hisaishi is fantastic. I figured the Conan songs would place near the bottom, but I do find the opening pretty catchy, even if there isn't much to it. It's so innocent and endearing, like the show and its characters.

I don't mind anime girls and waifus, but couldn't stand it when they are nothing more than eye candy with cliche personalities.

And yeah C3 is not a very well-liked anime overall I don't think. Don't really see people talking about it anywhere and it has a 6.79 on MAL. (Anything below 7 on MAL is almost always a bad sign.)

ok so the first video has some of the worst cinematography ive ever seen in an opening.. it jumps around spasticly and half the time the girl's head is cut off... it looks like some idiot playing around with the camera in miku miku dance without any idea what they're doing. i like the song though.

Really not a fan of the song in the slightest and is borderline annoying to me. Video really doesn't do much for me for me either as it just seems like some mech anime. I saw a cute animal for probably less than a second. Maybe if they showed that cutie for more than a second this could have gotten a better score.

The music isn't typically my style, but I really like Shounen Heart anyways for some reason. Probably my favorite OP/ED from the show (which generally has good OP's/ED's). OP1 is also great though, and ED3 is a guilty pleasure of mine.

I also like Shounen Heart, but I don't think it was the best choice to represent Eureka 7. I don't have time to look right this second, but Eureka has some awesome OPs and EDs to choose from.

Ermine I can't in good conscience recommend the anime to you. That cute thing you saw on the screen is pretty much used as a punching bag or butt of jokes half the time if I recall. It's been a while since I watched it. Either way Anemone's pet is not a central character or important in the slightest.

i don't think the song is anything special and it's a kid-friendly thoroughly meh show with shoddy animation designed to ultimately push a product but i did grow attached to the character in this ED.

lmao now looking at what i wrote and having looked at the criteria more closely i'm not as confident. like i didn't even realize it said "favorite" and this is nowhere near my favorite op/ed but it's still somewhere in the top 100 i guess.

I am very unsettled right now... what a creepy and unnerving opening. Everyone is laughing creepily as if they are going through a mental breakdown or something. The song is also creepy and I don't like it one bit! Props to the creators if this is the feeling they were going for because they damn well nailed it. This is too far off the deep end in terms of creepy for me to the point that I want to stay as far away as I can from this anime, lest I see some things I won't soon forget.

Yep, thats exactly what they were going for. This is a psychological horror series, after all.

That being said, its not gory or anything, so I highly recommend you give it a shot if psychological thrillers/horror is at all interesting to you! Its still my #1 anime of all time, all these years later.

Ah yes... the classic bunch of generic anime girls but omg there's a killer among them or something what a twist. I sorta liked the spooky cut ins at the start with the music and the video but then it just turned into anime girls running and crying and I really just didn't dig the song either. I am a HUGE fan of Umineko and haven't given Higurashi a shot at all... unfortunately this really doesn't make me want to watch the anime OR give the VN a chance at all.

Not sure if swordz9 gave me this one as a troll but I sure hope he did because if he seriously enjoys this ending... yikes. Everything about this ending is awful and makes me want to kill every single character that shows up. Especially the idiotic baby thing. Every time he says DON'T TOUCH ME, I want his head sliced off and smashed with a hammer over and over. It gets 4 points because the background music playing isn't the worst thing in the world? Either way, the video is awful and so is the song. Congratulations on wasting a minute and a half of my time watching that.

To be fair lots of OPs are much better when in-context

C^3 is just one of those series that's just too weird and overall tasteless to find any sort of mainstream acceptance. like it's a pretty bog standard supernatural action harem setup, but the general tone is really all over the place because many of the characters are basically moe anthropomorphized torture devices or murder weapons brought to life by the hatred and dying curses of the hundreds or thousands of people that they killed and now they just want to live normal lives and atone for their past by using their abilities to fight groups who misuse other cursed torture devices and murder weapons for their own ends.

It plays up the whole cutesy/purity/innocence/kawaii angle a lot, while also having a lot of violent/psychotic stuff, messed up abuse backstories, and general fanservice/weird fetishy stuff. for example among the main recurring female characters you've got a girl who controls the murderous impulses from her weapon by repeatedly auto-erotically asphyxiating herself because she's also wearing cursed bondage gear that prevents her from dying no matter how badly she's hurt and a gender changing sex doll originally designed to murder his/her partner mid climax

so, um, yeah. not exactly the sort of thing to appeal to most people.

also the higurashi kai op is kind of neat because it's the first season's op played backwards iirc.. Maybe I should have put that part first so this post wouldn't seem so weird...? too late for that I guess.

I just realized how totally unfair this is, as I have like 5 times as many favorite EDs as I do OPs and could have submitted 2 EDs to make it slightly more even (26/24). Boo and hiss, all that struggle for people like Anagram to subvert the rules. I DEMAND A RECOUNT! (I don't) I am curious to see how a couple of my other favorite EDs would've stacked up if you feel like doing a bonus bonus round.
