I have vrv but the only thing I really use it for is anime. There is some other stuff though. Its just very convenient and easy to navigate on mobile .

I'm busy figuring out the needlessly complex organization of Monogatari because I might finally want to watch it in the near future. It looks like Crunchy has everything except for three Bakemonogatari episodes, the three Kizu movies, and the Koyomi series but I'm sure I could track those down.

Anyway, I remember asking this back in December but I forget the answer. Can anyone tell me when I should watch those Kizu movies? They're the only thing where the release order doesn't match the listed order on the Wikipedia article.

Just watch literally everything Monogatari-related (Except Kizu) in release order. That's how it was written and the anime release order mirrors the novel release order for everything except Kizu afaik. Kizumonogatari can be watched at any point after Bakemonogatari. The novel was the second thing released (After Bakemonogatari), but the movies took for-fucking-ever to make and were big memes for a while because of that.

Also, yes, the three missing Bakemonogatari episodes do need to be watched, but licensing around them is super funky because of how they were released iirc.

Imo Kizumonogatari should be watched after Bakemonogatari.

Also I don't think Roba's going to give the series a 1/10, though it wouldn't surprise me if he likes it less than most of this topic series does.

This series is such an unusual one though that it's often hard for me to predict how someone will react to it, so who knows.

Some thoughts

Steins;Gate 0 is like by far still the best show. The last few episodes have really ramped things up. It's interesting because right now the number two show on my list is Revue Starlight and that feels a lot like the number two show when the original Steins;Gate aired, Mawaru Penguindrum. However, as much as I like Starlight, the gap between it and 0 is larger than the gap between Penguindrum and the original Steins;Gate. And the original is the better show.

You might notice that AoT S3 is pretty low. And that's because... the show is kind of dumb? Like you can only get away with so much keeping the viewer in the dark and this behind the back power grab stuff for so long. Like without actual knowledge a lot of the choices the non scout regiment characters make seem extremely stupid. We know most of the things the scouts know, and we can draw conclusions on their actions based on that. Other stuff is revealed very slowly and it's very annoying.

As for the two sports shows. Harukana and Hanebado suffer from opposite problems. Harukana has a very likable cast, is fun to watch, but has like almost no tension at all. Hanabado has a lot of tension and knows how to drive up the stakes... but the characters suck and it's not very fun to watch. Being a fun show to watch is much more important, imo, than this other stuff which is a reason for the pretty large ranking gap. The way Harukana builds their characters is also a lot better. Like we get to see natural progression of skill through practice and building relationships through like the characters talking and sorting stuff out. Hanebado has almost 0 knowhow in handling interactions like these.

High Score Girl continues to climb. I really like the show now. It has a great mix of nostalgia and some great character building and interactions. I still think one of the most impressive things is how accurate it seems to be from the point of like someone who really likes games and outsiders looking in. Like some of it is somewhat exaggerated but a lot of the situations are things that I could see happening in real life.

Asobi Asobase is the season's best comedy right now, but Chio is not far behind. However, they still are not as good as like a lot of other comedies that have already aired in previous seasons, mainly Hinamatsuri and Skilled Teaser Takagi.

Phantom in the Twilight continues to overachieve by not being dropped. The solutions they come up with for the problems are kind of deus ex machina, but the like message they put behind them are solid if a bit simplistic.

I think Ive tried 3 comedies so far this year and dropped 2 of them. I guess I might be able to check out that butt part of Asobi now, but I probably wont undrop the show still. I actually forgot to see what Winter has for shows. Maybe Ill check out some of them this week. Ive just seen Antarctica from it I think

It's nuts to me that Antartica and Devilman were this year, feels like ages ago.

I've been meaning to ask (if I remember right) Granzon and LTM since you both finished S1 of Sword Gai. Have either of you checked out season two and, if so, is it worth watching? I dropped season one after three episodes but I might give it another shot if there's something worth seeing in the end.

Yeah but I still have family visiting so I only watched one episode, mostly to see what it was all about. The animation style will take some getting used to but it was interesting so I'll probably stick with it. The top-rated comment on Crunchyroll for that episode was one that said not to worry about pausing to read all those flashing text screens so I didn't, but man there were a lot of those. Also I don't hate Senjougahara yet (though I do hate that Crunchy's subtitles call her Senjyogahara because it looks funny) but the class president whose name I forget seems better than her after one episode!

and the reason they tell you to not pause and watch is because you'll probably rewatch this thing multiple times, and a lot of the flashing text is sometimes just homophones and word play which is key to Monogatari's appeal
