This season has been great. Sure the gameplay has been really sloppy at times, but we have a great cast and have had some really incredible moments so far. Sure it would been nice if both alliances were actually competent and traded shots week after week, but foutte/s6/the hive being utterly incompetent has made for an enjoyable season.

I don't particularly like anyone in L6, but have to respect how well they've worked together as an alliance and have things workout in their favour for the majority of the game. That being said I think they've been incredibly fortunate to be up against an incompetent alliance that continuously gets in their own way and bumble their way through the game. Case in point, Angie giving Tyler the answer during otev oops

HoH is Slip n Slide tomorrow, which should be incredibly competitive given the people that will be competing. I'm torn between wanting The Hive side to win HoH and take out another number of L6 or just getting rid of the incompetent alliance altogether and having L6 just battle it out.

Part of what made Drew Christy so good though is his story - he was SO cocky and douchy that he wrote his own early doom and it was fantastic. Drew had absolutely nobody to blame for his early exit but Drew. I'm quite sure he would not have been so great had he lasted deep into the season.

Drew was an OTTN douche but also a dingus - and his glorious flameout was a true work of art. It's why he's one of my favorite early-exit villains in Survivor, as much as I can't stand him as a person.

Brett is smarter than Drew but isn't as much of a douche. He IS a douche, mind you, but he's not over-the-top with that. He's entertaining for "strategic" reasons. And he is fun even if he's making critical errors with jury management. He's not a glorious trainwreck like Drew, so he's ultimately not as memorable, but he's still ridiculous enough that he feels fresh to Big Brother. I like Brett more than Drew on a personal level, but still.

Keep in mind I've only seen a handful of episodes. So perhaps I am wrong with his edit. You should've seen what he did when Rockstar asked him to help her with her speech.

If you think so, you don't remember Samoa, especially when it was airing live. This is classic Survivor/BB topic hyperbole.

I'm actually in the midst of a Samoa rewatch right now. Tyler isn't as unbearable or despicable as Russell, but in terms of having the same three confessionals over and over again, yeah he does.

I rewatched Samoa in May/June and Tyler is nothing like Hantz. You could see Hantz's ego growing as the game went on. He played a mightily impressive game pre-merge, but once he idoled out Kelly Dreads he became arrogant. That's also when his confessionals got redundant. It got worse in HvV when he always talked about his own immortality. When he was just a dick.

Tyler is likable, but any season with a clear kingpin is boring. BB19 was bad because Paul was a clear kingpin and sheep like DoorMatt, Christmas, and Raven/Death all thought they were in the final 3 with him and didn't do anything. The difference this season is that FOUTTE aren't brainless sheep - they're just brainless. It was funny for a while. I too can't decide if I'd rather have FOUTTE just get Pagonged or see them succeed at taking a shot at scum. It's too optimistic to think they'll gun for Tyler, even though they totally should as him going would splinter the rest of L6.

That said, I'm barely watching the episodes, but I totally am watching tonight's.

I'm worried the rest of the season after tonight could result in a steamroll, though Taran is committed to thinking it won't be one. I'll trust his words of wisdom... though I'm still hesitant.

I'm annoyed the hacker twist had to have an effect, I was really happy last week when it changed just about nothing. While I'm not rooting for Rockstar, I'm more so not rooting for OP twists.

Apparently Angela is going to be mean in her GBM's, looks like she doesn't care to manage a jury at all. I can live with that. If you're gonna be mean, be MEAN. Kaycee is nice but it's a little too boring. Partially why I was rooting for one of them to go this week. Realistically one of them would've gone, with Tyler playing his cloud app, which could've been really exciting. What we've got instead was also pretty good, it's been an enjoyable week on the feeds, though I can't help but feel like the twist did some damage.

I'm still very up on the season overall though. I'm excited for the spoiled HoH comp tonight. Always fun to watch.

Same here. It would be infinitely more exciting if FOUTTE actually got a member of L6 out. But alas, the twist has made for a predictable endgame. This is exactly why both Survivor and Big Brother need to stop it. They think "Twists make for big moves and excitement!" but we've discussed how that's not true at all.

I'm watching tonight just for the goodbye messages. Angela and Brett did not see how those cost Paul the game last year. Recruits for ya.

Also, "twists lead to excitement" has been a thing in Big Brother since BB3 with the veto. They've always been trying to think up new twists for each season. That's never changing.

I believe the only reason BB10 was basic was because of the writers strike. Of course, it was a great season, but so many other seasons have been great too, both in spite of and because of their twists.

They had to squeeze out two seasons of the show in their shortest period of time yet, only 3 months, due to the strike. I suspect this is why they kept it simple, the lack of prep with so much focus on BB9.

I don't really listen to RHAP, honestly. I don't know what it is. From the few times I've tried listening, Rob's podcasting style just feels very...clean. Like, sterile clean. Professional almost. I compare him to Survivor Historians or the Super Best Friendcast (that I listen to all the time), and they're just SO much more fun.

I want to be entertained by a podcast, or I want to gain insight. Rob's format and his podcasting persona are just a little too formulaic to entertain me, and honestly, if I want to listen to strategic insight on a show I just watched, I'd rather read it in text form. That's why I'm sad the RHAP blog is relegated to foreign Survivor recaps and power rankings. I miss Sarah's blogs.

While I agree with Inviso, I also kinda like that about Rob. He's focused. He's quick-witted. He has immense self-control and takes his job seriously, while also mixing in his bouts of humor. He tries to remain fairly neutral all around, being friends with everyone. You rarely see him get mean or harsh or "dirty" (although when he does it's great and everyone remembers it, ala Steve/JMac BB17).

Also Inviso can't stand ~strategy~ (I NEED GOOD TV! I NEED TO CARE!!!) and Rob lives for strategy. He rates Gabon very low because it's a trainwreck, after all.

It makes sense he wouldn't care for Rob. Although the LFC isn't Rob, it's Brent (who lives for destroying gamebots), Taran (who Inviso would loathe because he's a robot), and Melissa (Paula Abdul).

Taran thought that "things will probably get exciting" until Cody's second eviction. IIRC, he thought they'd all eat each other and someone would actually have the testicular fortitude to target Paul. Whoops!

I'm not as entertained by RHAP as I used to be, but that may largely be due to Survivor being less entertaining and it affecting my listening then and now during BB. I think another part of it is that it's such a premier podcast now - it lacks the same organic, real-talk feel it used to have. That said, Rob is a natural and you can access both strategy-focused or more entertaining podcasts depending on what suits your fancy. He has an empire now.

Still love the LFC. The chemistry between Taran, Brent, and Melissa is phenomenal. And Liana is awesome, too.

My entertainment of RHAP depends mostly on the guest. If I dont like the guest it often hurts the entertainment value because I always like Rob for the reasons Peridiam stated but if the guest is someone obnoxious like Adam Kline, I'll skip it.

I've been listening to Rob himself less often nowadays. The RHAP podcast I look forward to the most is the BB B&B cause 69 is my kind of humour

I don't know if we ever got confirmation as to whether or not she could reapply. She believed at first that she could since she never set foot in the actual house.

If she can and Kassting lets her back on because "Wow, we screwed you last year and you STILL want to play? That's awesome and we can make a great story out of it." I hope she kills it.

As for RHAP in general, I liked Why X Lost until David Bloomberg started to annoy me later in Ghost Island (but I'd still listen to it for Jessica Lewis)
