he basically got very critical and said the video was solid but he would've changed x, y, z

i refuted some of his points and thanked him for the constructive feedback, he thanked me in turn

it felt like i was a houseguest from one of his seasons. some of his points sounded like stuff he'd say in the DR.

Also yeah, this week is going to be uneventful. Feeds: Kaycee won Veto and probably isn't using it even though she's the only person in Level 6 that isn't paranoid about the upcoming Battle Back. She honestly thinks there won't be one.

I do have to be honest: I don't like that there's a Battle Back again. There's one every year and there was going to be two this year until Kaitlyn embarrassed herself. And the timing is predictable: When there are either four members of pre-jury or four members of jury. It's why the house is predicting this and adjusting their target accordingly to prevent a FOUTTE reunion. It would be superior if they shortened the game by a week in order to make the possibility less likely. The formulaic structure of the game has resulted in less excitement. And because it now happens every season at one or two specific points, Battle Back is simply not exciting anymore and undermines the game significantly for the stretches of time where it is a concern. Like idols in Survivor, it's no longer a twist - people expect and prepare for it accordingly. Having NO Battle Back would be a twist. Le sigh.

I think I am still blocked by Andy but Vegas the Spoiler said that this battle back is only the result of Kaitlyn failing to put that puzzle together. There wasn't supposed to be one otherwise. The downside is that this is a result of them wanting a double-eviction every season. Which is kind of blah despite how much fun double-eviction is in the moment, it never seems to be satisfying in the end. In all of the double evictions I've seen to this point the most powerful person to leave is Eric Stein (remember I have only seen 2-8,18,19) and he was likely going home next anyways.

I feel the same way. Other than a few isolated moments, and a couple of really awful characters, there is nothing offensive about the season, but it just isn't fun to watch the people I dont like stomp on the people I do like week after week after week.

And I GET hating Foutte. Believe me, they're an alliance of people that are either awful assholes, or painfully stupid. But...just because THEY'RE bad doesn't magically make L6 enjoyable. They're such flat, emotionless characters.

Except for Brett. I mean, yeah, he's a douche, but he's an entertaining one. However, Kaycee is furniture, Angela is THE most flat and emotionless of the bunch, and Tyler doesn't even seem to be excited that he's having his way with everything and is instead talking in circles. And yet, I have to root for them, because the FOUTTE side was either venomous and nasty or just plain stupid.

I enjoyed much of the season until the H@CK3R twist screwed up the numbers and then Faysal did the dumbest move on Big Brother since Cody C in BB16. Once those two things happened, it was over, and now there's really no point in following or watching. There's not much happening...

Eh. My problem with Brett is the same thing it's always been. He seems like a perfectly fine person in the house, but the second he gets to either a comp, a ceremony, or the diary room (you know, places where he would be guaranteed TV time), he becomes this fake dudebro, playing an obnoxious character.

I don't see it that way. Given Angela's nominations, one of Fayleigh (pronounced "fail-ee") is a goner, even if one wins Veto. Level 6 has three votes so even if Angela needs to put up a pawn... it's over.

I honestly hate Level 6 more than last year's Paul cult. At least there were enough crazies in that group to keep it interesting, plus I can say I actively liked one of them (Josh).

BB19 and Paul's cult were more unpleasant, but at least I cared enough to root against them. And when they DID eventually start picking each other off, it made me happy to see their dreams crushed. This group? They're so bland and efficient that I just don't care.

Let's take Jason from last year. I fucking hated him. But he was dynamic, showed some emotions, and had more of a personality than just being cocky and shouting in the diary room. I just thought he was a really shit-tier person. Compare that to Brett who I also hate and think is a shit-tier person, but he just boils down to being cocky and shouting in the diary room.

Compare Matt to Angela. Each is the most boring, soulless member of an unbearable majority alliance. But the editors still found fun things to do with Matt, like play with his cereal obsession. They don't have anything to do with Angela but make her a boring bitch. And considering it was blatantly obvious that Matt would be a mid-jury boot and it's blatantly obvious that Angela is getting F4 at the absolute worst, that speaks to just how little Angela is giving them.

Last year had the manifestation of Death itself (Raven), a cripple who the running comp was thrown to (Christmas), a guy who banged pots and pans and then blossomed into a competent strategist (Josh), a guy literally named Whistle-Nut, and the worst casting of all time (DoorMatt).

This year, we have a dominating alliance with very little personality. As I've said, Angela lacks the charms the best villainesses have. There's no "edge" to her. Kaycee is as bland as DoorMatt - and even so, she might win! Brett plays up for the cameras, but he's not a good player at the same time. He seems more like a douche than Dr. Will and Dan because of that - those two were calculated trolls having fun. And, for the mastermind, Tyler isn't very complex. Of everyone in that alliance, the two most interesting in Winston and Rachel were the two sacrifices.

Also, FOUTTE is so bad at the game that they're impossible to root for. Level 6 has continuously misted FOUTTE. By now, it has lost its luster. It's hard to root for either side now because one is flat and the other is terrible at the game. And, due to a lack of rooting interest, I've stopped caring.

Big Brother just needs to cast better. Robyn does a good job, but the fact that both Grodner and Moonves need to approve the final cast is the problem. It's why BBCAN has been continuously more compelling, as production generally approves Robyn's suggested 16 as opposed to asking her for a larger pool that they pick from.

Darkx probably cant he has only seen three seasons of Big brother. But if I had to include Survivor I would probably say Julia Landauer.

Matt does have the hilarious high pitched yelling that they used on RHAP all the time.

As for Survivor I'd say Rebecca Borman, Rita Verreos, Nick Stanbury, and like half of the Ghost Island cast are solid picks.

While both of them suck, they at least had something interesting about them. DoorMatt was a nonentity in the game, had the personality of, well, a doormat, and was overwhelmingly generic.

Jenn City was at least interesting despite being a nonentity in the game and having little personality despite her appearance. Chef Joe had personality even though he wasn't overly interesting. And, as Dante said, he did endure headbutts from a Hantz. While both are duds, neither was as bad as DoorMatt.

And yeah, if we're talking Survivor, Wholia Landauer is the ultimate dud. Seriously... who? If BB19 was a prerecorded season with an edit like that of Survivor, DoorMatt would have been just as INV.

DoorMatt? Hm, maybe I'm missing something from after I stopped paying attention. I'm at that point this year. If FOUTTE wins the next HOH and actually does something with it (putting up Tyler/Angela), I might get re-invested.

I think Big Brother needs to go back to slightly shorter seasons as those tended to be far more exciting on the whole. It would better engage and sustain viewers, too.

I gotta be honest: I am losing a lot of interest in reality TV in general. I don't know if that's because of my changing tastes or because of the shows just not being as good due to a lack of the humanity that made the earlier stuff special. Or both.
