Just won an arena game by playing two 1-cost cards, the random card that I got from one of them and a totally unnecessary Shadow Word Death.

In hindsight, this is one of those rare games where using the Coin to hero power on turn one was actually the correct move.

I had an arena game versus a shaman who played lighting storm three times and totemed after all three times. He also highrolled all three. I was like please dont lose to this guy. But the final thing he did was evolve a taunt before he attacked into my guy and like why are you evolving a taunt and not a random totem first.

Im convinced Lightning Storm is ~80% to high-roll. Including when I use it too.

Its probably confirmation bias, but I should actually keep notes from now on.

The priest OTK deck thats getting popular is already really annoying. Feels like there isnt a whole lot to do except play aggro, which is always annoying.

Drafting three Matriarchs made that Ozruk/Togwaggle/Dragonhatcher option I got from Free From Amber a whole lot better than it normally would have been.

When I was running my zoolock I kept running into obnoxious Shaman players running the Shudderwock combo.

Running odd paladin I keep running into RNG master Spell Mage. After the 6th time they clear a full board. Dragon's Fury is a stupid card.

For whatever reason, Holy Water really gets me tilted. I feel like it's not even a card that's too good, but every time I see it in arena I feel cheated somehow. Can't really put my finger on it, but I hate it.

Do you all have any cards like this?

I have 3 holy water in my current arena deck which is 5-1 atm. Its pretty stupidly good when it hits the right targets.

I could have drafted 4 more copies but it would have been at the expense of much better cards.

Like, compare it to assassinate. In arena, the limitation of 4 damage isn't nearly as big of a detriment relative to ranked. It's usually a big win for the person playing it.

To be clear, when I said I don't think it's too good, that should have read, "I don't think it's too good."

I guess it might just be a card that gains value in the context of arena.

Its just so good is the thing.

5 mana, deal 4 damage, and generally draw a minion that you really want, so good value

Havent played a lot this month, mostly arena. But I hit rank 1 with taunt Druid and Im thinking of pushing for legend this week. Rank 1 is really all I want now do I dont reset past 5.

Lol scrap that I just hit legend. I got there using mind blast priest from like rank 2 3 stars up to legend. At rank one I queued onto the only cubelock on ladder three times in a row (and swept) so that helped, haha.

Have been focusing on odd pally and want to say its been going well, but I dont know. Zoolock was streaky but I reached rank 6 last month, best Ive managed this month is middle of 7.

The Shaman Legendary is nuts, even more so if the spell doesnt overload twice and works on the same target

It and Bloodlust or Lava Burst gg

Rogue spell could be good in odd rogue or as a guarantee to draw your spiders

I scrolled past the expansion video on the Hearthstone subreddit three different times before realizing what it was because I was certain something called "The Boomsday Project" couldn't be serious.

Nah. Expac work starts about a year in advance before release, so you'll have to wait a while for sets Brode had no involvement in.

Though I had no idea people hated Brode, so *shrug*

That is true, but theres still a lot of changes that can get made in the final leap of development.

Some quick thoughts

Magnetic seems like a decent way to use buffs without having truely dead cards. Because of the way other cards work I guess the card would activate automatically if you have a mech on the field meaning there is some play mechanic limitations to think about.

Projects is like eh. Idk. I was never a big fan of symmetrical effects.

The shaman legendary look nuts but how the recasting works will go a long way to determining its true power.

Also draw your deck lmfao. First thing I thought of was like strider and getting a lot of spooders to be instantly killed or speeding plagued out of the game. Not 100% sure how good this actually is

The only problem with the spooder into draw your deck plan is that once your hand is full, you will just burn the spooders.

My first thought was maybe there will be a way to increase your hand size, but on second thought I think they have too many UI limitations for that.

Yeah ideally the 70 for $50 would become the new standard and they'd introduce a cheaper bundle. Maybe they're still shopping around for different pricing structures, or maybe this is the price we pay for the sudden generosity of in-game events (double gold Rag fest is coming back sometime soon).

All I know is that I'm going to be part of the problem, because I am weak and want Mecha-Jaraxxus.

I switched to Taunt Warrior because all 3 of my quests lined up to finish them with Warrior, and of course thats when I don't see a Zoo in 6 games.

The Hearthstone gods are laughing at me.

It's actually made me want to play the game without the need to finish a quest but I know it'll just end up being high-rolling Zoo and I'll get tilted again.

Still gonna spend $63 dollars on the pre-order though because I hate myself.

A couple months ago, I was excited for the changes to ladder and thought I would gradually push my way to legend. I simply haven't cared about standard since this expansion came out, though. I went from rank 4 to rank 6, to rank 8 to I think I'm rank 12 at this point.

And tonight I caught up on the wild ladder while running the table with a jade shaman deck that hit a solid slate of good match-ups up until the very end when a fatigue druid turned out to be a taunt druid, and I hadn't saved hex for Lich King. Went from low 14 to high 12 on a win streak in the meanwhile.

Result (my deck vs opponents deck)

L (odd rogue vs token Druid)
L (odd rogue versus shudderwock)
L (control priest versus odd rogue)
W (control priest versus egg hunter)
W (control priest versus spell hunter)
W (control priest versus even warlock)
W (miracle rogue versus heal zoo)

I finished about 100 ranks up from where I started.

Tried to have fun tonight playing Quest Druid but I had a game against Zoo who had Keleseth on two and then drew two Fungalmancers, AKA the best card in the deck, so that was a fun game

Then even Shaman who just of course had the nuts draw

Two blowouts like that will keep me from playing Hearthstone for the night

Tome that sounds like an excuse to switch to arena
