I really want my boy Uther to get some broken control tools this expansion. Time and time again Im tired of seeing Druids/Warlocks/Priests get actually ridiculous control combos and Paladin getting MORE aggro tools.

Paladin never made any sense to me as a control class, but I do think it needs to trend more towards midrange again.

In what way? Design or philosophically? Because paladins are a physical damage dealer, yes, but they're not a DPS class -- they tank and heal. And for design, they've always been a board-centric class, but that doesn't mean they can't be control. When you have a card like Spikeridged Steed, which adds 4/12 of taunt to the board, and were classically best known for their legendary 6/6 DS taunt and cards that reduced enemy minions to 1 health or 1 attack for easy clearing, how does that not fit into control strats?

Board-centric isn't what I what I have in mind when I think of control decks. If you're a board-centric "control" deck, that's midrange. Zoo is the best example of this (specifically TGT-era demonzoo). You bring up Steed and Tirion, but those are just insane value cards that have historically been played in most Paladin archetypes. They've become too slow for aggro now, but that's fine. I think Paladin needs more stuff like this and Tarim that are just good to push it to slower strategies.

Its pure control tools have always kinda sucked. Equality wants you to have board or weapons to trade up, or use a 2-card combo for a clear (bad for card advantage). Same for power setting cards, they're best used to protect your own board and value trade. Pally card draw is also a little underwhelming.

Not saying all decks have to fit neatly into class archetypes, but it just seems more natural to me. And the game could stand to work on midrange more since it's become really polarized between aggro and control with some combos. But maybe after Shamanstone it's not a good idea.

Control decks these days dont get away unless they OTK, generate literal full boards with a single card/combo, or just do really really broken stuff. (Amari+Zola, etc)

I just want some Paladin love like that instead of ANOTHER EXPANSION where they have a T1 aggro deck.

Because I can't drop down again once I'm here, right? If I can then scratch that. >_>

I started playing Even warlock (fight me) and its hella fun. Idk why they thought this spellstone was fair, shit is way too strong.

No offense here because getting to 5 is an accomplishment to be proud of, but a brand new player getting to 5 proves my point. Skill is no factor in Hearthstone.

I played obsessively in beta, then stopped until last month. And have played 600+ games since last month. But I make no claims to be skilled, so okay. Have a good day. :)

1 - Truesilver at 1, he played his second one and swung at me.

By this you are saying he had1 charge left on his truesilver but rather than use it he played a second and swung with it, yes?

Because there is a hypothetical scenario where that is correct.

Suppose its turn 9 and your correct usage of cards uses 5 mana from your hand, floating 4. It also requires you swing with a truesilver charge. Conveniently you also have a 10 mana play for next turn and would not be able to fit a re equip next turn.

So you opt to use the remaining 4 on truesilver which would give you a fresh 2 charge truesilver so in addition to your 10 mana play you have a weapon available to swing.

BUT you are playing against a deck that you feel might contain a Harrison Jones AND you have other weapons available to play on turn 11+ so the lost charge is not integral to your win% SO you re equip truesilver first and swing with that thus still giving you an available swing next turn but also playing around Harrison so your opponent would lose a draw.

.

Im not saying that's what happened, that was just a thought exercise to consider a situation where it is correct to use your weapon charges sub optimally.

Priest can be so infuriating to lose against sometimes. I was the priest in this situation, but it reminded me of a game that would make me hate priests.

I had control early on but kinda ran out of runway with my opponent floating around 13 health. Couldn't quite afford to over-extend and push for lethal, and knew in time I'd probably die.

Then I play mind vision and get fireball. "Ah HAAAaaa!" Then next turn the guy plays the 6 mana 4/10 who summons a random 2 drop for the opponent...and it gave me the 2/1 with deathrattle get a random mage card, which pulled pyroblast. I skillfully cast the fireball and the pyroblast at my opponent's face for lethal.

Finally hit level 60 with Warlock, Priest and Mage have been there for a while. Been playing over four years, I'm setting an astonishingly slow pace.

Even with how little I play it's surprising it took this long, when Reno was standard I pretty much played nothing but Paladin and those three classes, and Paladin is at 59. Everything else is in the 40s I believe.

I got golden mage and golden hunter like 2+ years ago. No other class is even remotely close.

I think inevitably after a while they'll implement a new bonus at like 3,000 wins or something. What do you guys think?

Mage - 173
Warlock - 173
Paladin - 113
Hunter - 95
Shaman - 80
Druid - 74
Rogue - 62
Warrior - 21

Pretty soon I'm going to be averaging one Warrior win per expansion.

Didnt you say you were new earler in this topic or took a years long break or something?

It was the last topic, but yes not denying I stopped playing from Open Beta until last month. During Beta I played a ton though, to the point all my classes were 30+ when I got back to it.

I guess the idea I was a brand new player with no clue of the meta or how to play the game getting by from nothing but the RNG irked me a bit as the argument because I don't consider myself brand new. Not saying I'm skilled or some kinda expert or anything.

Hunter: 60
Mage: 60

The other 7 are all between 38 and 43. Shows my style....when I do happen to get into ranked it's either hunter or mage, and arena, which I prefer, is essentially random because I don't favor any class over another.

Flip Rogue to Warrior and you can tell the classes I like to play the least as well. Last time I played Druid in ranked Force of Nature still had Charge, and last time I played Warrior in ranked I ran the Warsong Commander and Raging Worgen combo.

Feels strange how original Force of Nature was so obnoxious it needed to be nerfed but I'm not sure it's even playable today.

So I played an Odd Priest deck, never had seen one before. Couldn't find that specific deck list anywhere since it was also running Light Warden. In any case, with all the minions doubling health and a Void Ripper/Inner Fires it seemed a bit insanely good. I saw some key elements of it, might tinker around and make something similar since I have Baku already.

My current account has priest, warlock, mage, and rogue as golden classes. Paladin is like 40 wins away but I dont want to play paladin in this meta right now. After that hunter has like 250 or something because thats what I used when the account was new. Druid is next. I probably have under 30 wins with warrior and shaman combined.

Should be noted I have a lot of wins with priest, warlock, and rogue.

Undertaker Hunter out of any deck in HS history was the most overpowered/least skill intensive deck. You played your Undertaker, dropped your OP deathrattles, and went face.

No deck deserved a nerf as much and so many of those cards took hits. Abusive Sergeant, Leper Gnome, Unleash. Dark days for HS. Only a true heathen loved Undertaker Hunter.

Never saw a Fireball, Frostbolt, or Flamestrike. I somehow ended up passing on Blizzard twice and Polymorph at least three times.

I guess I'm a heathen. I was just still learning Hearthstone at the time, and this deck didn't honestly bother me at the time. I was much more bothered by anything druid could do involving Force of Nature and Savage Roar.
