Never really Chik-fil-a's food. Not a fan of waffle fries and I don't like the seasoning on the chicken. Plus, as others have noted, there's usually a wait.

I love the waffle fries. But I hate the chicken. I have tried everything that they have, even the grilled chicken, and I have never been able to finish any of it cuz it just makes me feel sick. I guess whatever oil they use is the problem, it just makes all the chicken feel wet and greasy.

And their sweet tea isn't that great either. I just don't get how they are always so packed.

I hate KFC too, way too greasy. When the chicken eats through the box, that's not good. Mcdonald's is ok, but way too expensive for what it is. Burger King is the best for cheap nuggets, unless their price went up from like a dollar and some change for 10.

The best fast food place by far tho, is Zaxby's. Just a couple more dollars than a meal at McDonald's, but it's big real chicken tenders that are delicious, and awesome fries with amazing seasoning, and Zax sauce, which is the best dipping sauce ever made.

For a food place, at least. For other retail places, Sunday shopping actually costs them money because they have to pay an extra day's wages but customers don't buy any more than they would without it.

I've never had their lemonade, maybe I'll try that sometime. And I wouldn't consider myself healthy at all, but I just don't like grease. Unless it's bacon grease, then I can pig out on it and regret it later lol.

and yea, I mean McDonalds still isn't too expensive, but a 10 piece nugget meal is $5 plus tax, and that's like just enough for a good lunch. I can go to a lot of other places and pay that same price and get much more and much better food.

And Zaxby's is really only in the south I think, and it's a chicken place. The have chicken tenders, chicken wings, chicken sandwiches, chicken salads, ect. And then I don't even know all their sides, but I know they have fried mushrooms and fried pickles. I love it, because even their "snack" meal is plenty for a good lunch or even dinner, and it's just $6 and some change. And it's real, fresh, whole chicken. And it's like not really greasy at all

tbh, when they were repealing the blue laws in my state, the staunchest opponents to the repeal were liquor store owners for that very reason. The ones for it were grocers and other non-specialty shops who didn't really incur any added expense as a result of selling on Sundays because they were open anyway so it was just added money.

In the case of Chik-fil-A, though, they could have easily attracted the after-church crowd.

I'm going to agree with SP. McD's killed its dollar menu in favor of the "Dollar-plus" menu, which was when most of the value vanished. iirc, biscuits also used to something like 70-cents and I think the last time I ordered them it might have been $1.29. At that point, I might as well just get a McChicken for breakfast.

Not talking about the dollar burgers, I don't eat burgers. Those are a good deal. I'm talking about 5 bucks for a 10 peice nugget meal when you used to be able to get a 20 peice for the same price. Why would I pay that much for such a measly meal, when 2 more dollars can get me a hearty meal of real chicken tenders from Zaxbys or a meal so big I can't finish it half the time from the Chinese place down the road?

I guess it all depends on where you are and what you have a taste for. Depending on the restaurants around, and what you are hungry for, it could be the best choice. In your case, McDonalds isnt the best choice.

IDK, most times I do all my shopping on Sunday. Specifically I do my shopping between 9:45 and 10:45 when most of the Christian crowd is in church. That way the stores are not that busy and they are plenty supplied with stuff. In fact my grocery store usually re-stocks around 9:30 so all the produce is fresh and I don't have to fight people to get it.

Plus I don't see why they have to pay people extra on those days, most people that work in retail usually have a schedule where they work 5 days a week, but instead of having the weekends off they have other days during the week.

Without Sunday shopping: Pay staff for 6 days/week.
With Sunday shopping: Pay staff for 7 days/week.

It's not paying them extra per se, it's having to pay one more day's wages per week.

And if that weren't an option, would you buy less? Restaurants aside, probably not.

In practice, it's not quite that simple, since the added convenience means there's less time between deciding to buy it and actually buying it. That does lead to more impulse buys, since that means less time to realize you don't actually want it. Such nuances aside, having shopping on Sunday doesn't mean people have any more money to spend, or want any more stuff, so stores don't necessarily make more money to compensate for the extra day's wages.

Of course, it doesn't have to be Sunday, that's just the most prominent example of a day off being legislated in Western culture, and you run into questions of competition when it isn't legislated (not being open when your competitor is does result in a lost sale).

Maybe? More then likely I would just do more of my shopping on-line since Sunday is really the only day I can actually go out and do shopping. Not really possible for me to go out on, say, a Tuesday.

Come to think of it, why would a store be open between 9 - 5 on a weekday? Most people are working then. If anything that would seem like the time they are less likely to sell anything.

This is why I always park and go inside and come back out in less than 5 minutes pointing and laughing at the fat lazy assholes in line. And yes I do actually do that
