For a food place, at least. For other retail places, Sunday shopping actually costs them money because they have to pay an extra day's wages but customers don't buy any more than they would without it.

IDK, most times I do all my shopping on Sunday. Specifically I do my shopping between 9:45 and 10:45 when most of the Christian crowd is in church. That way the stores are not that busy and they are plenty supplied with stuff. In fact my grocery store usually re-stocks around 9:30 so all the produce is fresh and I don't have to fight people to get it.

Plus I don't see why they have to pay people extra on those days, most people that work in retail usually have a schedule where they work 5 days a week, but instead of having the weekends off they have other days during the week.
