Well, I have Kawakami as like my secret teacher relationship, then Makoto as my open relationship, and then Hifumi as my side girl (since she doesn't seem to interact with any of the main characters, I figure there won't be any issues).

Where I kinda messed up is with Haru. It just felt so mean/awkward saying no since she was obviously crushing me that I decided to take her on as my pity date.

This should end well.

i mean there are certain people you should just not date:

- a doctor who is actively performing clinical trials on you
- a fortune teller/mind reader
- models, because they are high maintenance

Also, I was scared that if I started dating Ohya, she'd want to do some kind of 3-way with the bartender, and I would not be interested in that at all.

I just do the romance routes because they're generally more interesting than the friendship ones, and you get extra scenes for people you've romanced, too.

I used to feel bad about accidentally bumping into innocent bystanders or hitting them with my horse when I played Assassin's Creed until I realized they don't actually have feelings and they'll forget all about it as soon as they're offscreen

I used to build rides in Rollercoaster Tycoon that would end with the coaster cars being flung off a cliff into a canyon and set the price to free so that everyone would ride it.

I wasn't too bothered by the moral implications of dating a bunch of virtual girls at once.

It's been so incredibly long since I played it, but IIRC, you can alter the layout while they're in line so that they can never leave the line.

Morality in game is highly dependent on how much the game wants you to care. If you shed a tear for every pedestrian you ran over in GTA the games would be unplayable, but it's fine because none of it matters. In games like Mass Effect, it invests you in the characters and the universe so you actually care about their well-being. Persona, for all it invests you in the characters, doesn't actually care if you date more than one person (outside of Golden).

I think you'd have a stronger point if it weren't for the fact that the Moon wasn't falling. That's the real reason he's reversing time. Granted, armed with the knowledge he has, technically I suppose he should try to do as much good as possible on the last cycle since he knows he doesn't intend to revert.

Though there is still a bunch of morally ambiguous stuff you can do despite that. Particularly regarding Sakon.

Undertale is probably the best video game ever in terms of making you care about the decisions you make regarding characters in the world. It pulls no punches. It's like the opposite of the mindset GTA puts you in.

In RCT, I personally liked getting people stuck on a footbridge over water, and then slowly deleted the footbridge until they were all congested. I'd let them stew for a few hours, usually causing mass illness to spread. Then, I'd delete the bridge and watch them all plummet to their watery grave.

Another fun thing to do was mark the admission gate as free, and then when someone starts walking the path to get to the gate, I'd raise the entry price to the exact amount of money they had on them, so that they'd have no money left once they entered the park. Also, nothing in the park was free.

Yes, it was kind of like an amusement park from hell.

Morality in games is generally something I deal with on a game-by-game basis. I don't think I have a hard rule on it.

Generally what comes into play though are: How much I care for the characters, whether the player has a choice in the matter - and if so to what extent, and what content - if any - is gated behind it.

There's other stuff too like the theme or atmosphere of a game, etc. I dunno, I can be weird like that.

P5 is pretty subtle with the references compared to 3 and 4 though.

Except for the Rise movie poster anyway, which is pretty hard to miss if you're familiar with 4 cuz it's kinda everywhere.

Actually no, not really! The metaverse is basically a Persona 5 only concept. All of the Persona games use different settings for the actual gameplay elements. Persona 3 takes place in a hidden hour called the Dark Hour between midnight and 12:01, and Persona 4 takes place inside TVs.

Persona 1 and 2 are a bit more straightforward in that monsters just wonder around real places that are distorted for the most part iirc.

Well, Igor is in all the games and essentially plays the same role.

But a couple of the ads around town are references to other Persona characters, and if you "watch" the news at the cafe every night, they'll occasionally talk about other Persona characters on it.

Also, Akechi's title as "Detective Prince" is a reference to a P4 character who had the same nickname.
