I assume you mean like characters from previous games showing up and Morgana's explanations of the Metaverse? Actually no, not really! The metaverse is basically a Persona 5 only concept. All of the Persona games use different settings for the actual gameplay elements. Persona 3 takes place in a hidden hour called the Dark Hour between midnight and 12:01, and Persona 4 takes place inside TVs.
