The Cinderella escort section is the hardest part of Aqua's route in general tbqh

That's the one with Jaq, right? I actually found that to be the easiest of the escorts. Although I attribute it to me doing that as the last one so I knew the best strategy was to cheese it using crowd control abilities.

I found Terra's to be the hardest (although it only took about three tries). As before, the lack of experience was the main problem.

I actually DID wind up restarting on Standard. I don't mind it being a bit on the easy side, and besides I'm mostly here to see the story and also get to DDD as well.

You can get that whole playable sequence without 100%ing the journal. You just can't get the bonus cutscene without it, which is fine to watch on YouTube since it's the same thing.

Yeah you can get the last episode on any difficulty very easily. The only thing you miss is the bonus cutscene.

I'm going to make a prediction and say that Aqua will get the biggest strength boost in a Character Battle out of the KH characters that are known to appear in KH3. Yes, I know that Aqua has not yet appeared in a single Character Battle yet, but this prediction is based on what her strength might have been prior to KH3.

Aqua would have been pretty bad fodder prior Birth by Sleep being playable on a console. Following the release of 1.5 ReMIX, she would probably still be fodder but not nearly as badly as the pre-1.5 ReMIX era. Getting an appearance in a proper console KH (not a port of a handheld game) would do wonders for her strength, especially if she has a major role in the story of KH3 with what appeared to be an evil Aqua in the trailer. Thinking she could end up above the fodder line after KH3 and be third in strength behind Sora and Riku.

I remember BK_Sheikah00 apparently saying that he was considering Aqua as his Guru pick for the next contest (if it's a Character Battle) and that could be a really good choice given what is known about KH3 up to this point. Of course, KH3 is an early 2019 release, meaning the next Character Battle could happen before KH3 is out.

long answer: I think just to give them the sense of being "reborn" but still connected, since they basically wanted to become whole again, or at least fulfilled. And then the X plays in later with the whole x-blade so you can kind of retroactively use that as an explanation too.

I think Ultimania explained that Xehanort was fascinated with the letter X because of the Xblade, so he renamed his followers in that fashion because of that.

Uhh so what's up with this (what I'm assuming is) Terra's final boss? Am I really supposed to whittle his HP down with parries?

I have to say, these multi-hit attacks enemies have really suck in this game. You can't get dodge or block them if you get hit by any part of the attack even if there are clearly pauses where Terra could obviously dodge out of the way. And they all do like 90% of your HP in damage it feels like

Ven was my favorite to play as from a gameplay perspective IIRC. Terra the worst, but that could have been experience too.

I didnt really like playing as terra too much until I started getting faster commands like sonic blade. Then again that has probably had something to do with me using him first so I was still getting used to KH again. I also like ventus dodge more than terras. Come to think of it, ventus was my most-used d link for terra because of haste so maybe I just really like quicker characters in these games

That's fair

I think I just mainly liked that there were attacks you could give Terra to make him fast, so you could end up with fast and strong, whereas there wasn't really a way to make Ven strong. ...Though you could make him even faster, which was neat enough. The lack of damage compared to Terra just bugged me.

That's exactly my experience. Maybe it was because I played Terra first and didn't have the controls down yet, or because he's a big ox, but Ventus was wayyyyy easier and more fun to play as.

Aqua too. She was hard at first since she got two shot by nearly everything, but by the end her abilities were way to good and just annihilated everything.
