I'm not really sure how important D Links are. I've been trying to get two hearts in all of them as I play, but really the only reason I liked Ventus' D Link was due to haste. Aqua's D Link on Ventus is pretty good too ( I didn't use the Aqua link on Terra much so I don't know if its the same).

I think Stitch's D Link makes it so you get double CP which is insanely useful for getting the right commands you want to by melding.

Mickey's I think gets you double XP?

I literally stopped using D-Links at all by the time I got to Aqua's story. I'm sure if you really know what you're doing you can use them to get easy access to useful commands early, but I much preferred my own deck.

I did it Terra Ventus Aqua and even by Ventus I just did D-Link for something to do.

This caught me off-guard because I just unlocked the keyblade of the same name in KHUx last week. <_< Forgot BBS had a command style of that name.

I'm playing through KH1FM right now. Man, I forgot how much that game goes downhill in the second half.

The absolute confusing insanity of Monstro ( you can go through the same door twice and end up in a different area! In a dungeon where every area looks identical!), the awfulness of Atlantica ( you'd think by changing the controls to this awful swimming system and removing all your defensive abilities they would make the battles easier to compensate, but nope!), and Captain Hook's fucking awful pirate ship ( let's all have a bunch of 3D Battles inside rooms that are all built smaller than an outhouse!) really killed my desire to complete the game.

Luckily things picked back up by Hollow Bastion, but ugh....

Honestly over the years, playing through the game so many times it comes kind of second nature to me on how to get through those areas so they dont bother me haha

Oh you mean the Fortune Street knockoff? I actually had a TON of fun with those, but most people dont agree with me. And sometimes the AI can be a real bitch in it

Ah, since we're on the subject, does anyone happen to know if the Fortune Street stuff is actually of any tangible benefit? I imagine they just whipped it up so Japanese kids would have something to do on the subway, but I've never spoken with anyone who made actual use of it in their playthrough.

Mostly wondering if it can get you any commands or anything significantly earlier than you'd be able to get them normally.

Well, I didn't get lost going through the world, it's just a great example of the bad game design that plagues the later half of the game.

Then came 100 percenting the thing. I knew I had puppies and Trinity Marks left in there but trying to find where they were was a nightmare. THAT'S when I got lost. It doesn't help that the floor is colored like a bad drug trip, making it so easy to miss the Trinities.

In the demo Toybox seem to be about the same as KH2's Worlds it seemed to me, though it was only two areas long.

If I remember correctly, his story started out with him searching for Terra, and then devolved into his nebulous motivation to make "friends".

What? He already had a bunch of friends. That's the only reason he decided to go to last couple of worlds? They kind of gave up on his story making any sense by that point.

Yea the whole friend thing with him is.....a little off. I think I get what they were trying to go for, just feeling lost in general and doubt in himself and whatever else. But translating it as searching out for more friends is.....eh.

I do like how his story ends though.

He wants to forge the x-blade to open the way to the True Kingdom Hearts which will in turn supposedly kick off Keyblade War 2. 'Something' happens during the Keyblade War / near the end of it which basically fucks the world up royal to the point where it can be remade.

Xehanort wants to remake the world in his image, one where light and darkness are 'in balance'...or something like that?

I started BBS a few days ago and just finished Terra's story and I'm not sure I care enough to do the other two, especially after seeing you guys talk about Ven's story.

does Mickey factor in to the other stories more? He was briefly on screen like twice in Terra's story but I don't know why.

I do feel Terra was the worst part of the game, aside from his ending. Although storyline wise Ven and Aqua are less interesting. Aqua is the most fun to play as, although she's best saved for last

I'll say that even with what I've said about the story I liked playing as Ventus quite a bit and overall my enjoyment of BBS is way up over how I felt about it while playing as Terra. And Ventus' story does ramp up a bit towards the end, it's just a little aimless before that.
