Might go tonight to see it at the Drive-In. They're showing Black Panther afterwards, which I still haven't seen. Kinda wish they were showing Black Panther first though.

This is why I like the Drive-In. You can comment on the movie without interrupting anyone else. Plus around here it's WAY cheaper. If I went to see Standard Infinity war, I'd pay almost $14.00 for my ticket. At the drive-in I can see Avengers and black panthers for $10.

Drive ins are much preferrable to regular theatres besides less then stellar popcorn and immersion. That said, you can bring your own food in and drinks so it usually works out.

Drive ins are hard for me in allergy season though. And going to a drive in alone is pretty loserish also. Plus spose to rain all weekend here.

Honestly, I wouldn't risk it. I mean, what if you see someone there that you know? Once people learn you went to the movies by yourself you'll become a complete social pariah. Your family will leave you. You'll probably lose your job, even. No movie is worth that.

I prefer to go to the movies by myself, I HATE when people try to talk to me during a TV show or movie.

I straight up refuse to go with people that do so.

Would be a deal-breaker if I ever got a girlfriend that did it.

If there was a movie I really really wanted to see in theaters and none of my friends wanted to watch it I'd have no issues going to the movie alone. It's simply not a super social experience to be honest.

That being said this has never happened but it's more because I'm usually pretty patient with seeing movies and can wait till they're out on BluRay or streaming or whatever, and I have a decent amount of friends who like see the big name movies in theaters than some sort of fear of going to the movies by myself.

I saw Civil War and Zootopia by myself, was perfectly fine

I'll admit the Zootopia one was a bit more awkward but I was super hyped for it and in the end I got to see the movie I wanted

Last year I went to see Lucky by myself and I ended up being the only person in the theater, best damn theater experience of my life. I wish I could see every movie that way.

1 of the 3 near me does. Another one had it and they said their supplier made them change two other movies in on that screen, which is funny because everyone was talking about how they had to get their early for that screen and now they removed it.

I started going solo cuz I got moviepass and it's really good. There's nothing social about watching a movie anyways, and talking during is always annoying. It's only useful to have someone to talk with after but that can be solved by... just talking with your friends after.

I feel like movie pass may be an acceptable reason. It was made specifically to encourage that. I guess. Or they were banking on people not being losers and bringing people with them when they went which brought theaters more money and them noticing would have made them cut the movie pass owners a better deal to not lose money on it.

Their game plan was to sell data on movie habits and users plus show theaters they were increasing traffic in theaters where people buy concessions. Since movies themselves generate basically no profit for theaters, only concessions do.

They are attempting to parlay it into deals with movie chains to offset the costs somewhat. And if it had gotten big enough, could use the threats of black listing certain movies or theaters who wanted to play hardball in order to hurt their bottom lines into getting them to buck up.

They didn't do the movie pass with the intention of going out of business. They had a plan. It just is not working nor appears going to work either.

It doesn't help people are taking a good thing and actively ripping off the system over and over also.
