Wait, wait, hold up. Before you get too attached to the dub, I need to let you know that only the first two seasons of Lyrical Nanoha were ever dubbed. You would have to switch back to the sub for StrikerS onward. If you're okay with switching languages in the middle, then go ahead. But if you prefer consistency, switch to the sub right now.

But yes, Nanoha's dub voice is indeed Cristina Vee, who also voices another very powerful magical girl in a completely different series: Homura Akemi.

I'm at ep 16 atm, the mech kazuki got from his "mother" is cool as hell, but i didn't get something, their island core was talking about a new core being born, does that mean kazuki is the new core? or did she mean the other island core, the giant festum, finally understood humanity or something like that thanks to kazuki?

iirc it's about their own new core. I'm pretty sure all the other island cores in the original series were fucking assholes lol. Also, yeah, I absolutely loved the concept of tsubaki, the island core when I first saw it. The idea of a girl that's literally the personification of an entire island (she even gets hurt whenever the island gets damaged, and waving her arms causes the island to deploy missles, badass as fuck) is so cool. I think she's way cooler than the mechs (besides Kazuki and a spoiler one) in the original series.
She was the highlight of the first season.

And yeah the escalation gets almost gurren lagann like. First few episodes it takes like 3 mechas of the MCs to take down one festum. In exodus one mecha of minor characters are blowing away thousands of the same festum like they're insects. Meanwhile there are continent sized festum that eat those fafners for dinner and the MCs have even more godlike abilities. Soushi is awkward as hell too lol but he gets a lot better in exodus.

Fucking great way to put it. Definitely makes the depressing parts worthwhile when it happens. Exodus actually ups the ante and puts in insert songs during those moments like a lot of modern anime do.

And the order is Fafner>Right of Left (which is a prequel)>Heaven and Earth (direct sequel to fafner>Exodus (direct sequel to heaven and earth with the new characters from Heaven and Earth being part of the main characters)

So... I just translated one of the Kino's Journey special stories that came in the other day. Didn't take long, considering that it's stylized to be like a story book. Lots of pictures, not as much text as an average light novel chapter.

The double page illustrations are just phone photos for now though. I'll try to get a good scan of them when I have the chance.

Remember earlier in this topic (posts 448-450) when me and Itachi were talking about how the Lyrical Nanoha series was a spin-off of a completely different visual novel series? In that VN, Nanoha's father and older siblings worked as bodyguards, and the father was actually killed off at one point in the story. Him surviving is a change in the continuity from the Triangle Heart VN series to the main Lyrical Nanoha franchise, and the scars on his back are a reference to his shady past in the VN.

In other words, it's absolutely 100% meaningless as far as the Lyrlcal Nanoha franchise is concerned, only serving as a small shout-out to the original source material.

lol that was definitely one of the funnier episodes. My favorite was Kenji who's like "I tried go fuck this shit I'm out but accidentally erased Maya's instead". Like he just straight up confesses he doesn't want to get in the robot lol. And then his mom throws a shoe at him. Though that made me hate Maya's sister since Maya is actually pretty badass and could probably have saved Shouko if she fought.

But yeah i don't think anything would've saved shoko to be honest, she was waaaaay too fucking lost in rage for that, i'm like 100% sure she could've ejected if she really wanted since the festum wasn't assimilating her as fast as it did with kasugai but she was like nope i must save the island, honestly, ill keep saying this, she was pretty much a sacrificial lamb to create plot, her whole character is used up in one ep, could've built her as the deus ex machina of fafner riders but i guess they didn't want to play into the whole "super weak girl suddenly is a god in a mecha" thing?

Honestly if we take aside all plot elements Maya probably could've saved her since Maya is another fucking prodigy who's completely calm and collected while in a fafner and she could've thought of a way to save her but yeah the plot needed a sacrificial lamb to get things rolling. That's why a lot of people apparently thought the first half was extremely stupid and poorly written until this famous gundam writer came onboard for the second half.
