It's pretty fair to not like Mia, and I say that as someone who likes her quite well. I've definitely talked with people who don't like her because of how she shows up and gives the player hints; some people take that as a jab at their intelligence.

Playable Mia is solid but of the five playable characters in the series (if I'm not forgetting anyone?) she's the one I enjoy playing as the least. That's not an insult because the other four are all top ten characters in the series to me.

I like the fact that in 1-5, there's a choice where all three answers are correct. That happens in investigations sometimes, but I feel like that never happens in trials! Also, 1-5 is probably the only case where they actually had me believing the assistant character did it. They really pursued that angle hard and sold me on it.

also I like the fact that Lana Skye says testimony won't work when reviewing SL-9 because both the culprit and the victim are dead, and Phoenix is just like, "Well, we certainly can't get dead people to testify."

I mean

At this point, Maya is still working on getting her spirit medium powers to work properly again and Phoenix hasn't met Pearl yet. So Phoenix really doesn't think it would be possible to get a dead person on the stand.

I haven't been worrying about wrong answer responses in keeping track of lines here, but there's one here in 1-5 I had to get because it's so great if you pick the wrong evidence for Neil Marshall's dying message.

Phoenix: "This is a message from the deceased!"
Judge: "Right. Now this is a message from the judge!"

I wasn't counting Maya's little bit (no testimonies or other meaningful gameplay), but I'm embarrased I forgot the latter. Heck you might spend as much time playing as him as playing as Mia? Be interested to see how it turns out on Leon's line count.

also 1-3, 1-4, and 1-5 have been pretty consistent on the attorney/assistant overall line percentages so far

35-40%~ for the attorney
15-20%~ for the assistant

E1-4 isn't that far off either, although Edgeworth skews a little higher (45%) because Franziska isn't the assistant for the entire case.

Oh, absolutely. It took Edgeworth having a big role outside of court in all three segments for him to just barely beat the Judge in 1-5. I'm curious to see what his line count is in 2-4.

The Judge has had the second most lines in nearly every trial segment thus far. I think the only one that beat him was 1-3's first trial day because my word Oldbag

The assistants definitely cut way down on the talking during trials compared to investigations.

Are there any other cases where the attorney doesn't have an assistant? It'd also have to be a case with a relatively small cast and that isn't very long because they spread the wealth around too much in bigger cases.

Phoenix could have a pretty high percentage in 2-2, actually, because Pearl is kind of the assistant, but she's only around for a few things.

The cases that jumped to mind most were 2-2 and E1-2 as possibilities. If there's another possibility out there I can't think of it.

Another thought - every case is definitely going to have its main character as the top line count (let's not count E2-3)... except possibly 4-4. I wonder if Phoenix has more lines in 4-4 than Apollo does.

1-5 might be Gumshoe's biggest case in the OT lineswise (excluding ones where he is a partner) and he only gets 300. he has less testimonies in AA1 than 3-1 Dahlia too! still liking my Maya pick, though it's gonna be tough to stay ahead with how wordy AAI2 is.

Gant above von Karma is.. interesting, especially considering von Karma has both 1-4 and E1-4.
