unless I'm misunderstanding, the new monster hunt mode seems kinda like... the same thing as dungeon run? except they're letting you choose from 4 unique heroes instead of using the standard HS heroes and classes. I guess dungeon run saw enough success that they wanted to just emulate the same idea again.

Dungeon Run at the start of K&C was great because it gave me something to do for a couple days until the meta settled and I knew what to spend my dust on.

Drafted a new arena in each region, which one is going to do the best? Also, I do believe I got more legendaries in these three arenas than I did in the last 40-50 combined. I even got the new arena-only card for Shaman.

I had a 6-3 arena run. I got a legendary and all 9 of my opponents had at least one.

There's a post on the arena subreddit with a warrior deck that got seven legendaries. The speculation is that warrior (and probably shaman) cards are so bad that they had to put a lot of legendaries into the pool for the high value packs just so they had enough variety.

3-1 on my freebie run so far.1 Legendary offered although all 3 options were good (Tarim, Wickerflame, Val'anyr. I took Tarim)

My 1 loss coming to a Druid who had an empty hand + only Loot Hoarder on board with 7 health left. I have 6 small minions (2-4 attack) on board and 14 health. He top decks Spreading Plague and gets Strongshell Scavenger from Loot Hoarder. I just insta-conceded without bothering to work out how much I could clear.

The draft process is a lot more difficult now I feel. Not sure what the overall quality difference is but I certainly had to think over a lot more picks than usual

Actually thinking about it, even if overall quality is about the same I think decks overall should be better as you're likely going to curve out better / have better synergy than before.

Since before your curve could be awful and to try 'fix' it you might only be offered bad picks or have them offered against way better picks. Whereas now if your curve looks bad you're probably not making too awful a sacrifice to fix it.

Likewise with synergy picks.

Druid arena at 0-0. Play against Priest who Thoughtsteals and Operatives my Ironbark Protector, Starfall, and Bonemare.

God I hate arena. I just want to get 5 gold to get back to an even number.

Just a heads up, with Shaman you can now play an 8/8 on turn one in arena. That was a fun game to lose...

I just got a zero cost Bonemare, Volcanosaur, and Grimestreet Enforcer off of that Marin treasure and still managed to lose the game because my oppponent had Nether followed by double Voidlord pulled out in consecutive turns by Skull of Man'ari.

Got 9 wins with a really good Paladin deck, which easily beats my previous best run of 5-3. I've only done about a dozen arena runs total, and I could never understand if I always get bad decks or if I'm just bad at it. I think the answer is a little bit of both, but it's good to know that the possibility to do well is there if I manage to actually get a good deck.

I'm still stuck at a gold amount that ends in 5, though.

It looks like there's some weird synergy draft stuff going on in arena right now? Spells also seem very frequent, even considering their normal increased offering rate.

My Shaman opponent just went Grand Archivist into the arena-only spell that deals 12 damage to everything/overload 10, so I have that going for me. That mage deck is 4-0 so far, and it feels a lot more powerful than anything else I've drafted recently. A deck that drafts 5 AoEs and 3 polymorphs tends to do well, I guess?

My guess is the control variant that uses Pint-Sized Potion, SW: Horror, and Cabal Shadow Priest. It has the tools to beat aggro and also uses Potion + Priest to steal Voidlords from Warlock.

Probably control aka thief priest. You don't really have any poor matchups besides off meta stuff like Quest decks or mill strategies.

I've been running Firebat's deck, minus the Divine Fire combo with Alex and a Mind Control, and the 3/3 guess your opponent's deck guy over the 3/4's. I do exceptionally well against both Paladins and Warlocks.

My first arena had me face off against a Snowfury Giant on turn one when my opponent played the new Shaman card. My second arena also saw a new arena card in game one, but rather than getting absolutely rolled over it turned into a shootout.

Had an 11 win shaman run. That new card sure is strong. Of all things by 11 win opponent was a... warrior.

Also I've been playing some miracle rogue. All the cards in the list are staying in standard so I think it's a good list to start to learn. It's good versus priest and sap can really help it versus warlock (although sometimes warlock still beats you because thats what it does). However, it's so bad versus paladin like I had a double prep/knives game and still lost, and mage is almost an auto concede.

That said I only have like a dozen games or so with it right now and I'm not even sure how to like muligan for each matchup. I'm like 8-8 and have beaten every priest and lost to every paladin.

I've almost doubled my total amount of arena runs in the last two days in an attempt to get 5 gold and it's like Blizzard is intentionally screwing with me by not giving it to me.

I really don't want to play this mode anymore but I hate seeing an odd amount of gold.
