I don't even want to watch football because shit like this makes me irrationally depressed, but there's not really much point in not watching. It's unavoidable finding out who wins the Super Bowl each year, and I'd still just get angry even if I wasn't watching. Hopefully CTE kills the league soon enough

Well I would have known from this topic what the flow of the game was unless I just skipped over all the posts during the game, and maybe for a few days after to avoid any others that trickle in. Of course knowing that it was another stupid false hope Patriots comeback isn't as bad as watching it, but at most I only want to know the final score

Even though I like to play it cool and just post that the Pats are gonna win it's impossible to not get swept up in the moment and let yourself believe that the decent result might happen for once. But no. Now that Peyton is gone Brady won't lose again until he's bad.

Conspiracy theories about sports being rigged always seem a little crazy to me (just mainly because of how many people involved have to keep quiet) but it's fucking insane that the Patriots only had one penalty. There were so many blatant offensive and defensive holdings that never got called. And then there's the fucking Jack fumble recovery that was blown dead for no reason. Maybe this is all coincidental, but it's very unsavory.
And obviously the NFL would prefer having the Patriots in the Super Bowl. I hope the SB ratings tank this year but that probably won't happen and if it does, it won't change anything. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I doubt they'd have much of an advantage. I'm not even convinced that they would have the majority in the crowd, since SB tickets are mostly sold well in advance and the Patriots have bandwagoners all over the country

Man, who the hell had the Eagles going to the Super Bowl at the beginning of the year? Their good season seemed so out of nowhere and it's even more improbable with Foles. They could win the Super Bowl and I'll probably still be asking if they're good. I think even the Jags' and Vikings' good seasons were less surprising.

It's really dumb how much NFL analysts (and Vegas) looked past the Eagles after Wentz got hurt. I get it, he was a big part of the team, but he wasn't the only part of the team and suddenly they're a home underdog against a 10 win team. Only like prime Peyton is good enough to elevate a mediocre team to a #1 seed.
