18 months and counting, Vikes fans have been "debating" the QB situation. I'm so goddamn tired of it. I know I can just not read/engage in conversations but it's hard to avoid. The worst part of it is, no matter who starts at QB next year, when the QB does something wrong, 80% of Vikings fans will say "[other guy who they didn't sign] wouldn't have done that."

My armchair GM opinion is I hope they pay all the money in the world to Captain Kirk Cousins and everyone shuts the fuck up. I know I'm just prolonging this narrative by posting this, but who cares? nobody

And for the record, Case is my realistic choice for who I hope the Vikings re-sign. This fanbase really needs to take off their teddy goggles. Don't get me wrong, I love Teddy, and compared to Ponder he was certainly an upgrade, but he's really not that good. Not to mention that he missed 2 seasons with a devastating injury

Is Kirk Cousins truly elite though? I'm still not sold on him.

No he's not elite (he has potential to be someday, maybe?) but my opinion is that he's a damn good QB

He reminds me a bit of Matt Stafford...really good QB, but the team constantly does not live up to their potential

Ignoring all that Vikings bullshit so I can post again about the video game I'm playing.

I bought a month of PS+ to see if I can play online with my aforementioned poor NAT type. The answer is: kinda. When I get into a match it's fine. Any delay isn't noticeable. I just don't know if my struggles to get into a match are because of my connection or because the game is just broken. Lots of people on this site are complaining about matchmaking and everything so that might be it. Impossible to say. Anyway my current team is Goku/Adult Gohan/Krillin.

Anyway, I've always been a playstation proponent, but it's hard to believe that their online play BS is still going on. I have pretty good internet, it's never a problem playing computer games, but on my ps4 it is a problem.

I'm only not giving you a break because you don't give anyone else a break. I play with integrity here.

here's another random thought: I wish I could get into basketball more than I currently am. I've tried watching it plenty of times but it just hasn't really clicked. Off the top of my head, none of you guys are hoops junkies, but is anyone here a big basketball fan?

My opinion of the Vikings is that Bradford is made of glass so he's out, I truly don't remember how good Teddy was at this point, and Keenum seems good. I'd go with Keenum.

I didn't know this until Bradford became a viking, but if you take away all his injury issues, he has enough talent to be a truly elite QB and maybe a hall of famer

He's good when he's not hurt, but he's always hurt.

it's really weird because in 2016, the vikings had a truly awful O-line. Bradford took many sacks and hits, and he didn't get hurt and was an ironman. Then this season, he tweaked his leg apparently and was out for forever.

I didn't mean to talk about the vikings this much so I'll try to change the subject again. I'm interested in the Packers WR contract situation and how their defense will perform next year with the new coordinator and am also interested on some perspective from a GB fan:

1. Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. Their contracts are massive, and they just extended Adams. What the heck are they going to do about that? Jordy and Cobb are good WRs but they have had the benefit of Rodgers being the QB. Plus Jordy isn't exactly a spring chicken anymore. What's gonna happen with the WR situation?

2. The defense....There is some talent there, but Rodgers has always kinda covered up the flaws of the D. Obviously you fans hope the new coordinator will bring improvements, but what is your realistic expectation?

3. Rodgers is now dating Danica Patrick. He used to date Olivia Munn. Your thoughts?

Those are some big names though. I wonder how much an athlete's chances of going pro are affected by going to private school vs public school. Because I know a lot of big names in all of the American Pro Leagues went to private school

Great talking points, but it makes me wonder about NASCAR and how it's so popular in the south. Here in the midwest nobody give a shit about it and never talks about it, but when I lived in Texas it was really popular.

Speaking of sports star dating and Texas, the other night I was talking to a girl who went to A&M so I obviously asked her if she knows Johnny Football. She has met him and more importantly when he was a freshman he invited her friend to his dorm and they played video games all night until he fell asleep next to her because he didn't want to have sex. It's pretty common. There are a lot of Caribbean communities in Southwestern Ontario (especially Toronto). Donovan Bailey falls into the same group.

The other day I was just doing that stupid thing you do when you're bored at work and looking at all my old tweets and stuff. I looked to see if I had tweeted about Bortles back when I used to make stupid sports tweets all the time and once I made the lame joke that his name being bad made him a bad pick. @MNTwins1991 replied and said that the best QB in that draft had the best name, and he was talking about Jimmy G. A take that may age very well

It's weird because Jimmy was drafted in the 2nd round of the draft, so pretty much every team had a shot to draft him (disregarding trades and stuff). He's been in the NFL for 4 years now, so there was plenty of time for him to get traded, and he still had pretty minimal playing time. Maybe teams are still hesitant because of the Ryan Mallet situation.

My favorite Vikings radio guy was a huge Jimmy G fan going into that draft and was openly hoping that they drafted him. In hindsight maybe it would have been the right move.

There were rumors that the Browns were willing to flip the Texans' pick to the Patriots, but they wanted Cleveland's. I forget the sources to this, so I have no clue whether this is true or not.

Actually, ignore this. The Browns offered a 2nd round pick with some other assets thrown in, which... meh.

It seems we are all in agreement that Rodgers downgraded. Olivia is funnier, better-looking, and probably is better in bed. Danica is probably lower maintenance, though.

I am kind of a fan of basketball but I don't watch it anymore since we all know who is going to win already. Plus, the way they play now annoys me. Always trying to get fouled and crying when the ref doesn't give it to them. It's like a big game of who can get fouled more. And it puts all the power in the ref's hands.

I think the Vikings' best shot is to stick with Keenum. I know we talked about how Cousins is good before, but I still can't trust him to lead a playoff-winning team. And that's a lot of dollars to commit to a guy who might not get you over the hump. If they get rid of Keenum and then the Vikings have a down year, you know the fans are going to bitch more than ever about that decision.

Captain Kirk is going to be wearing orange next year so no need to worry over whether or not the Vikings should go for him

I agree, even though I like him, the smart move will be to get rid of Cobb. I think keeping Jordy will help younger/newer wide receivers learn from him on how to be better in sync with Rodgers.

I agree. I believe Case would be the best choice for the Vikings. I think Teddy has some skills and has potential to develop into a great quarterback. However, missing those two years really hurts in the long run and would be a gamble on him hoping the time off hasn't affected him in a negative way.
